Carlos Keller
Carlos Keller Rueff (January 3, 1898–February 28, 1974) was a far-right Chilean writer, historian, and political figure. Early years Keller was born in Concepción, Chile, into a family of German origin and completed his education at universities in Germany.Philip Rees, ''Biographical Dictionary of the Extreme Right Since 1890'' He received his doctorate in 1921 and soon became known as a student of Chilean historian Alberto Edwards and Oswald Spengler, with whom he had struck up a friendship in Germany. His first book, ''Spengler y la Situaciòn Politica Cultural de la America Iberica'' (1927) argued for a strong hierarchical basis to Latin American politics in order to preserve Spanish identity. The ''Vanguardia Popular Socialista'' (VPS, Popular Socialist Vanguard) was a far-right Chilean political party created in 1938. It was the direct heir of the National Socialist Movement of Chile (MNS) and founded as a consequence of the failed fascist coup in 1938 and its repression. It included Jorge González von Marées, while former MNS member Carlos Keller refused to join it. Pedro Aguirre Cerda
Pedro Abelino Aguirre Cerda (; February 6, 1879 – November 25, 1941) was a Chilean political figure, educator, and lawyer who served as the 22nd president of Chile from 1938 until his death in 1941. A member of the Radical Party since 1906, he was chosen by the left-wing Popular Front coalition as its candidate for the 1938 presidential election and won. He had previously served as deputy for San Felipe, Putaendo and Los Andes from 1915 to 1918, Minister of the Interior from January to September 1918 under president Juan Luis Sanfuentes, deputy for Santiago from 1918 to 1921, Minister of Justice and Public Instruction from 1920 to 1921 under president Arturo Alessandri, and senator for Concepción from 1921 to 1927. The middle class refers to a class of people in the middle of a social hierarchy, often defined by occupation, income, education, or social status. The term has historically been associated with modernity, capitalism and political debate. Common definitions for the middle class range from the middle fifth of individuals on a nation's income ladder, to everyone but the poorest and wealthiest 20%. Diego José Pedro Víctor Portales y Palazuelos (; June 16, 1793 – June 6, 1837) was a Chilean statesman and entrepreneur.
