Carlos De Morais Camisão
Carlos de Morais Camisão (8 May 1821 – 29 May 1867) was a Brazilian colonel of the Paraguayan War. He was one of the leaders of Laguna, with Alfredo d'Escragnolle Taunay. Mato Grosso Campaign
The Mato Grosso campaign was an early Paraguayan offensive in the Paraguayan War. Paraguay invaded the Brazilian province of Mato Grosso (now Mato Grosso do Sul). Alfredo Maria Adriano d'Escragnolle Taunay, Viscount of Taunay (February 22, 1843 – January 25, 1899), was a Brazilian writer, musician, professor, military engineer, historian, politician, sociologist and nobleman. Retreat From Laguna
The Invasion of the then province of Mato Grosso by the forces of the Paraguayan Army in December 1864, the war declared, one of the first Brazilian reactions was to send a military land contingent to fight the invaders in Mato Grosso.
