Carlos Cruz González
Carlos Cruz González, usually known simply as Carlos Cruz (1 June 1930 – 27 March 2018, was a Spanish comics artist. In the 1950s, he worked in Buenos Aires as a cover illustrator and cartoonist, before moving to Málaga in the 1960s, where he began working for British firm Fleetway Publications on their British comics. His work appeared in ''Eagle'', '' Lion'', ''Tiger'', '' Buster'', '' Smash!'' and others. Motril
Motril () is a town and municipality on the Mediterranean coast in the Granada, Spain. It is the second largest town in the province, with a population of 60,368 as of 2016. The town is located near the Guadalfeo River and is from Granada. History Although its origin still remains unclear, it was a Phoenician enclave. It already existed in Roman times. When the Christians conquered Motril, there were 2,000 inhabitants whose main activities were agriculture, fishing and the production of silk and sugar. The city center size was around . Buster (comics)
''Buster'' was a British comic which began publication in 1960, originally published by IPC Magazines Ltd under the company's comics division Fleetway, then by Egmont UK Ltd under the same imprint until its closure in 2000. Despite missing issues due to industrial action during its run, the comic published 1,902 issues in total. The comic carried a mixture of humour and adventure strips, featuring the title character Buster and a host of other characters. Description The title character, whose strip usually appeared on the front cover, was Buster himself. He was originally billed as ''Buster: Son of Andy Capp''; Andy Capp is the lead character of the eponymous ''Daily Mirror'' newspaper strip, and Buster wore a similar flat cap to reinforce the connection. ''The Champion'' was a British weekly boys' story paper published by Amalgamated Press, which ran from January 28, 1922, until March 19, 1955. Its original editor was Francis Addington Symonds. ''Smash!'' was a weekly British comics, British comic book, published initially by Odhams Press and subsequently by IPC Magazines, from 5 February 1966 to 3 April 1971. After 257 issues it merged into ''Valiant (comics), Valiant''. During 1967 and 1968 ''Smash!'' was part of Odhams' Power Comics line, notable for its publication of American superhero strips. During this period, alongside British humour strips, ''Smash!'' included black-and-white superhero reprints originally published in the US by Marvel Comics and DC Comics.
