Carlos Boozer
Carlos Austin Boozer Jr. (born November 20, 1981) is an American former professional basketball player. The two-time NBA All-Star played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers, and then spent his last season playing overseas with the Guangdong Southern Tigers. As a member of Team USA, Boozer won an Olympic bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics and an Olympic gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. The Chicago Bulls are an American professional basketball team based in Chicago. In basketball, an assist is attributed to a player who passes the ball to a teammate in a way that leads directly to a score by field goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the basket. In basketball, a rebound, sometimes colloquially referred to as a board, is a statistic awarded to a player who retrieves the ball after a missed field goal or free throw. Rebounds in basketball are a routine part in the game; if a shot is successfully made possession of the ball will change, otherwise the rebound allows the defensive team to take possession. Rebounds are also given to a player who tips in a missed shot on his team's offensive end. A rebound can be grabbed by either an offensive player or a defensive player. The 1999 McDonald's All-American Boys Game was an All-star basketball game played on Wednesday, March 24, 1999 at the Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa. The game's rosters featured the best and most highly recruited high school boys graduating in 1999. McDonald's All-American Game
The McDonald's All-American Game is the all-star basketball game played each year for American and Canadian boys' and girls' high school basketball graduates. Consisting of the top players, each team plays a single exhibition game after the conclusion of the high-school basketball season, in an East vs. West format. As part of the annual event, boys and girls compete in a slam dunk contest and a three-point shooting competition, and compete alongside All-American Game alumni in a timed team shootout. The last of these competitions replaced separate overall timed skills competitions for boys and girls. It is rare for girls to compete in the slam dunk contest. The ''Parade'' All-America Boys Basketball Team was an annual selection by ''Parade'' that nationally honored the top high school boys' basketball players in the United States. It was part of the ''Parade'' All-American series that originated with boys basketball before branching to other sports. Started by the Sunday magazine in 1957, it had been the longest ongoing selection of high school basketball All-Americans in the country at the time of its final selections in 2015. Many of the honorees went on to star as college and professional basketball players. 2002 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2002 Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball tournament took place from March 7–10 in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the second Charlotte Coliseum. Duke won the tournament for the fourth year in a row, defeating NC State in the championship game. Duke's Carlos Boozer won the tournament's most valuable player award. The University of Maryland finished in first place during the regular season but lost to NC State in the semifinal round. Maryland went on to win the NCAA Championship for the first time. Duke defeated all three of their in-state rivals on their way to the tournament championship, beating North Carolina in the quarterfinal round, Wake Forest in the semifinal, and NC State in the championship game.
