Carlos Beruff
Carlos Miguel Beruff (born January 1, 1958) is an American real estate developer and a Republican politician and donor. On March 1, 2017, Governor Rick Scott appointed him chair of the Florida Constitution Revision Commission, a body that meets once every 20 years to propose amendments to the Constitution of Florida, Florida Constitution. Previously, Beruff was a candidate for the United States Senate election in Florida, 2016, U.S. Senate in 2016, but lost the Republican primary. He was a gubernatorial appointee to the Sarasota–Bradenton International Airport, Sarasota-Bradenton Airport Authority, the Water management districts in Florida, Southwest Florida West Management Board, and the State College of Florida, Manatee–Sarasota, State College of Florida board. Richard Lynn Scott ( Myers, born December 1, 1952) is an American politician serving as the junior United States senator from Florida since 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he was the 45th governor of Florida from 2011 to 2019. Scott is a graduate of the University of Missouri–Kansas City and the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University. In 1987, after serving in the United States Navy and becoming a law firm partner, he co-founded Columbia Hospital Corporation. Columbia later merged with another corporation to form Columbia/HCA, which eventually became the nation's largest private for-profit health care company.
