Carlos Alvarado Lang
Carlos Alvarado Lang (January 14, 1905 – September 3, 1961) was a Mexican printmaker and professor. He taught metal engraving and later served as the program director at Academy of San Carlos, from 1929 to 1949. Biography Carlos Alvarado Lang was born January 14, 1905, in La Piedad de Cabadas, Michoacán, Mexico. When he was age 14, he began his studies in the National School of Fine Arts (Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas de la Universidad Nacional autónoma de México). Alvarado Lang studied printmaking under engraver Emiliano Valadéz at the Academy of San Carlos (Spanish: ''Academia de San Carlos'', also ''Escuela Nacional de San Carlos'') in Mexico City. In 1929, he followed Emiliano Valadéz on his chair. After the coursework offer at the Academy of San Carlos was expanded in 1930, he got the chair of metal engraving. La Piedad De Cabadas
La Piedad is a municipality located at in the north-west of the Mexican state of Michoacán, bordering Jalisco and Guanajuato. The municipal seat is the town of La Piedad de Cabadas. The original colonial name was San Sebastián. It is bordered by the town of Santa Ana Pacueco, Guanajuato. Both towns straddle the Lerma River. La Piedad's population was 99,837 inhabitants in the 2010 census (250,000 including its metropolitan area). The municipality has an area of 284.11 km² (109.7 sq mi). The Museo Nacional de Arte (MUNAL) ( en, National Museum of Art) is the Mexico, Mexican national art museum, located in the Centro (Mexico City), historical center of Mexico City. The museum is housed in a neoclassical building at No. 8 Tacuba, Col. Centro, Mexico City. It includes a large collection representing the history of Mexican art from the mid-sixteenth century to the mid 20th century. It is recognizable by Manuel Tolsá's large equestrian statue of Charles IV of Spain, who was the monarch just before Mexico gained its independence. McNay Art Museum
The McNay Art Museum, founded in 1954 in San Antonio, is the first modern art museum in the U.S. state of Texas. The museum was created by Marion Koogler McNay's original bequest of most of her fortune, her important art collection and her 24-room Spanish Colonial Revival-style mansion that sits on that are landscaped with fountains, broad lawns and a Japanese-inspired garden and fishpond. McNay was an American painter and art teacher who inherited a substantial oil fortune upon the death of her father.
