David Walter Carlock is an American record producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His production style has been described as very hands on and song oriented. He received a Grammy Award for engineering Pink's, "Trouble". Biography Early life Carlock was born in St. Joseph, Michigan, the son of Jane (née Hadley), and Nelson Carlock. He discovered his love of music by singing in front of restaurant jukeboxes at the age of four. In junior high school, he taught himself guitar, bass, and keyboards. After graduating from St. Joseph High School, Carlock was an engineer at local recording studios, produced bands, and did string arrangements for a 60-piece symphony. Keith Carlock (born November 29, 1971) is an American musician who has played drums with Toto, Wayne Krantz, Steely Dan, James Taylor, Donald Fagen, Walter Becker, Tal Wilkenfeld, John Mayer, Sting, and Chris Botti. In ''Modern Drummer's'' 2009 Readers Poll, he was voted best Pop, Fusion, and All-Around drummer. He is a member of the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame. Carlock was born in Clinton, Mississippi, and attended North Texas State University. In October 2009, he released an instructional DVD called ''The Big Picture: Phrasing, Improvisation, Style, and Technique''. He has worked as a writer for several NBC television comedies, and as a showrunner for ''30 Rock'', which was created by his recurring collaborator, comedian Tina Fey. Carlock is a village in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 548 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Bloomington–Normal Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Oak Grove and Carlock Carlock was laid out on January 5, 1888, by John Franklin Carlock. Mr. Carlock owned of land. One tract was used to plat the original village of Carlock. It was located south of the hard road, Route 9 (now U.S. Route 150), connecting Bloomington and Peoria. It was one of the last towns platted in McLean County. Just northeast of the present location of Carlock the main road from Bloomington to Peoria, which was locally known as the Old Trail passed or the Old Peoria Trail, ascended a low range of wooded hills. This location had long been of interest to townsite developers. It was constructed in 1930 as a cotton exchange for J. D. Doughty and J. B. Kerby. The building reflected the importance of cotton in the region and the growth of peripheral industries. Morlocks are a fictional species created by H. G. Wells for his 1895 novel,''The Time Machine'', and are the main antagonists. Since their creation by H. G. Wells, the Morlocks have appeared in many other works such as sequels, films, television shows, and works by other authors, many of which have deviated from the original description. In choosing the name "Morlocks", Wells may have been inspired by Moloch, the Caananite god of child sacrifice, with the Eloi analogous to children.
