Carla Monroe (sometimes credited as Carla Nash) is a British vocalist from East London. She featured on MK's " 17" and on D.O.D.'s "Still Sleepless", which peaked at No. 7 and No. 46 on the UK Singles Chart. Life and career Early life and ''17'' Carla Monroe is of Dominican descent, and is from East London. On 1 September 2017, MK released " 17", which features uncredited vocals from Monroe; the song had been written four years earlier by Monroe, in her bedroom, about a time when things were difficult. At the time the song was released, Monroe held a day job in a prison. The song charted at No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart. The pair would collaborate again on 24 July 2020 with "2AM", which credited her. Vibrato (Italian language, Italian, from past participle of "wikt:vibrare, vibrare", to vibrate) is a musical effect consisting of a regular, pulsating change of pitch (music), pitch. It is used to add expression to vocal and instrumental music. The UK Independent Singles Breakers Chart and the UK Independent Album Breakers Chart are music charts based on UK sales of singles and albums released on independent record labels by musical artists who have never made the UK top 20. It is compiled weekly by the Official Charts Company (OCC), and is first published on their official website on Friday evenings. The chart was first launched on 29 June 2009, and, according to Martin Talbot, managing director of the OCC, would have benefited acts such as Friendly Fires and Grizzly Bear. Richard Philips, better known by his stage name Richard X, is a British songwriter and music producer. Gaining attention as a pioneer of the bootleg craze, Richard X has earned success as a producer and remixer. He has helmed hit singles for artists including Annie, Kelis, Liberty X, Rachel Stevens and Sugababes. According to an early issue of the now defunct ''Popworld'' magazine, Philips' alias comes from a postcard which was sealed with a kiss misinterpreted for the letter X. Marc Kinchen (born August 3, 1972), known by his initials MK, is an American DJ, record producer and remixer. He hit number-one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1993 and 1994 with the songs "Always" and "Love Changes". Lead vocals on both of those tracks were performed by Alana Simon (songs were credited to MK featuring Alana). The combo also recorded the underground house music classic anthem "Burning".
