Carl Johan Bonnesen
Carl Johan Bonnesen (26 May 1868 – 13 December 1933) was a Danish sculptor. He specialised in depictions of animals and exotic, "primitive" subjects as seen in the first sculpture he ever exhibited, ''A Victorious Group of Huns'' from 1889. It was soon followed by ''A Barbarian'' (1891), ''The Period of the Huns'' (1893), ''A Bedouin'' (1897) and ''A Mounted Chinese Warrior'' (1900). Biography Bonnesen was born in Aalborg. He trained to become a carpenter for two years before moving to Copenhagen where he was admitted to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1887. There he studied under Theobald Stein and Christian Carl Peters, graduating in 1889. Bonnesen soon had many commissions. In 1891, at the age of 22, his first sculpture was acquired by tobacco manufacturer Heinrich Hirschsprung and cast in bronze. It is today exhibited in the garden by the Hirschsprung Collection. Hans Christian Viggo-Hansen
Hans Christian Viggo-Hansen (31 March 1859 – 6 October 1930) was a Danish painter, sculptor and artisan metalsmith. Biography Early life and education He was born Hans Christian Viggo Hansen in Copenhagen, the son of master brazier Peter Christian Hansen (1824–97) and Sara Marie Henriette Andersen (1824–84). He completed a brazier's apprenticeship in 1879 but had aspirations to become a painter. He received preparatory training in painting under painter and conservator Carl Christian Andersen (1849-1906) before attending the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts for three quarters of a year in 1882-83. Career He had his debut at the Charlottenborg Exhibition in 1885–86 with two paintings, ''A View of Christianshavns Kanal and A View of Copenhagen Harbour from Nybørs'', but a visual impairment then forced him to give up painting. Rebild Bakker
Rebild National Park (Danish: ''Rebild Bakker'') is a protected area located in Rebild municipality in Region Nordjylland in Denmark. The park comprises a hilly heathland south of the small town of Rebild, situated in the geographic region of the Himmerland on the peninsula of Jutland. The forest of Rold Skov surrounds the hills on three sides, but the heathland is to be protected in its natural state. The Rebild Festival is held in the national park every 4 July. Rebild National Park is not included in the Danish National Park laws of 2007, but the heath is still to be protected and it can use the name National Park nonetheless. The park is one of two original national parks in Denmark, the other one being 'National Park Dybbøl Skanser' from 1924, now called 'Historiecenter Dybbøl Banke' (English: Dybbøl Banke Museum and History Centre).
