Carl Alexander Gibson-Hill
Carl Alexander Gibson-Hill (23 October 1911 – 18 August 1963) was a British medical doctor, naturalist, ornithologist and curator of Singapore’s Raffles Museum. His main interest, area of expertise and legacy of published knowledge was the natural, geographical and cultural history of Malaya, Singapore and the historically associated Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Gibson-Hill was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, grew up in Birmingham, and was educated at Malvern College in Worcestershire and Pembroke College, Cambridge. In 1933 he graduated with a Second in Natural Science Tripos, and subsequently enrolled at the King's College Hospital Medical School. In 1938 Gibson-Hill married a fellow houseman, Margaret Halliday, before departing to serve as the resident medical officer on Christmas Island in the eastern Indian Ocean. Carl Fredrik Hill
Carl Fredrik Hill (31 May 1849 – 22 February 1911) was a Swedish painter and draftsman. He is known for the atmospheric landscapes he painted during the first four years of his career, and for the drawings of fantastical scenes he created after he became mentally ill in his late twenties. Carl McClellan Hill
Carl McClellan Hill (July 27, 1907, Norfolk, Virginia – April 4, 1995, Hampton, Virginia) was an American educator and academic administrator who served as president of Kentucky State University from 1962 to 1975, and as the 11th president of Hampton University from 1976 to 1978. Early life Carl McClellan Hill was born July 27, 1907 in Norfolk, Virginia, to William Franklin and Sarah Rowe Hill. Education Hill attended Norfolk public schools. He earned a B.Sc. degree in organic chemistry from Hampton Institute in 1931. During the 1930s, Hill taught science at the George P. Phenix Laboratory School, a high school associated with the Hampton Institute. After working briefly as an assistant professor of chemistry at Hampton Institute (1939-1940), Hill returned to the high school as principal (1940-1941). Delmas Carl Hill
Delmas Carl Hill (October 9, 1906 – December 2, 1989) was a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and previously was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. Education and career Born in Wamego, Kansas, Hill received a Bachelor of Laws from Washburn University School of Law in 1929. He was in private practice in Wamego at various times between 1929 and 1943, also serving as the city attorney of Wamego from 1929 to 1934 and from 1937 to 1943, and as county attorney of Pottawatomie County, Kansas from 1931 to 1934. He was the United States Attorney for the District of Kansas from 1934 to 1936. He was general counsel to the Kansas State Tax Commission from 1937 to 1939. Karl Hill
Karl Hill (9 May 1831 – 12 January 1893) was a German baritone opera singer. Life Hill was born in Idstein im Taunus, near mountains north of Wiesbaden, but he lived and worked for most of his life in Schwerin, where he died. He studied in Frankfurt, and made his debut at Schwerin in 1868 as Jacob in Étienne Méhul's ''Joseph (opera), Joseph''. He sang the role of Alberich in the first performance of Richard Wagner's ''Der Ring des Nibelungen'' at Bayreuth Festival, Bayreuth in 1876. Also at Bayreuth, he sang the role of Klingsor in the premiere of ''Parsifal'' in 1882. In 1890, mental illness caused him to retire from the stage. Other roles His Wagnerian roles also included The Dutchman in ''Der fliegende Holländer'', and Hans Sachs in ''Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg''. Karl Hill (musician)
Government Issue was an American hardcore punk band from Washington, D.C. active from 1980 to 1989. The band experienced many changes in membership during its nine-year existence, with singer John Stabb as the only consistent member in an ever-fluctuating lineup that at various times included notable musicians Brian Baker, Mike Fellows, Steve Hansgen, J. Robbins, and Peter Moffett. Government Issue originated from the Washington, D.C. hardcore scene but added elements of heavy metal, new wave, and psychedelic rock on later records. Though this has caused the band to be sometimes overlooked in relation to other Washington, D.C. hardcore acts, their stylistic diversity made them influential to later punk rock groups. Government Issue performed occasional reunion shows in the 2000s and 2010s with various lineups, until Stabb's death from stomach cancer in 2016.
