Carl Davenport
Carl Davenport (born 30 May 1944) is an English former footballer who played as a centre forward in the Football League for Stockport County. He played non-league football in England before enjoying a successful career in the League of Ireland. He also appeared on Love in the countryside. Life and career Born in Farnworth, which was then in Lancashire, Davenport was on the books of Bolton Wanderers and Preston North End, without making a league appearance for either, before joining Stockport. He then played for Cheshire League clubs Wigan Athletic and Macclesfield Town. Farnworth
Farnworth is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, Greater Manchester, England, southeast of Bolton, 4.3 miles south-west of Bury (7 km), and northwest of Manchester. Historically in Lancashire, Farnworth lies on the River Irwell and River Croal. At the 2011 Census, it had a population of 26,939. History Toponymy Farnworth derives from the Old English ''fearn'', fern and ''worth'' an enclosure. Farnworth was recorded as Farneworth and Farnewrth in 1278 and 1279 and Ffornword in a land survey of 1282. Middle Ages Farnworth was originally a hamlet in Barton. In the 13th century it was held by the Lords of Barton and Manchester. By 1320 Adam Lever, Richard Hulton and Richard Redford held the manor as tenants. Cheshire Football League
The Cheshire Association Football League is a association football, football competition based in Cheshire, England, which until 2007 was known as the Mid-Cheshire Association Football League. From season 2017–18, the league operates four divisions: the Premier Division, Divisions One and Two, and a Reserve Division. Founded in 1948, only one club (Knutsford F.C., Knutsford) have maintained continuous membership since the formation of the league. Lancashire
Lancashire ( , ; abbreviated Lancs) is the name of a historic county, ceremonial county, and non-metropolitan county in North West England. The boundaries of these three areas differ significantly. The non-metropolitan county of Lancashire was created by the Local Government Act 1972. It is administered by Lancashire County Council, based in Preston, and twelve district councils.
