James Carl Dale (born December 7, 1972) is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher who played for the Milwaukee Brewers in 1999. Amateur career A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Dale attended Cookeville High School and Winthrop University. In 1993, he played collegiate summer baseball in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the second round of the 1994 MLB Draft. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk.
