Caribou Ranch
Caribou Ranch was a recording studio built by producer James William Guercio in 1972 in a converted barn on ranch property in the Rocky Mountains near Nederland, Colorado, on the road that leads to the ghost town of Caribou. The studio was in operation until it was damaged in a fire in March 1985. The ranch hosted some of the most prominent acts of the 1970s and 80s and was closely associated with the band Chicago, who recorded five consecutive albums there between 1973 and 1977. History In 1971, Guercio purchased Caribou Ranch, comprising more than of ranch property in the Rocky Mountains. The next year, Joe Walsh and Bill Szymczyk were starting work on '' Barnstorm'' at Walsh's home in Colorado when a mixer blew out on the first day. Joe Walsh
Joseph Fidler Walsh (born November 20, 1947) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. In a career spanning over five decades, he has been a member of three successful rock bands: the James Gang, Eagles, and Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band. He was also part of the New Zealand band Herbs. In the 1990s, he was a member of the short-lived supergroup The Best. Walsh has also experienced success both as a solo artist and as a prolific session musician, being featured on a wide array of other artists' recordings. In 2011, ''Rolling Stone'' placed him at the No. 54 spot on its list of "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". ''Holland'' is the 19th studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released January 8, 1973 on Brother/Reprise. Maurice White
Maurice White (December 19, 1941 – February 4, 2016) was an American singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer. He was best known as the founder, leader, main songwriter, and producer of the band Earth, Wind & Fire, and served as the band's co-lead singer with Philip Bailey. Described as a "visionary" by ''Vibe'' and a "mastermind" by ''Variety'', White was nominated for a total of 22 Grammys, of which he won seven. Earth, Wind & Fire (EW&F or EWF) is an American band whose music spans the genres of jazz, R&B, soul, funk, disco, pop, big band, Latin, and Afro pop. ''Chicago X'' is the eighth studio album, and tenth album overall, by the American band Chicago. It was recorded at Caribou Ranch and it was released by Columbia Records on June 14, 1976. The album made it to number three on the ''Billboard'' 200, and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on June 21, 1976, a week after its release.
