The Caretaker Cabinet of Panagiotis Pikrammenos was sworn in on May 17, 2012 after the end of the period of office of the Cabinet of Lucas Papademos, when an inconclusive election on May 6, 2012 resulted in a hung parliament. Panagiotis Pikrammenos ( el, Παναγιώτης Πικραμμένος, ; born 1945) is a Greek judge and politician who since 9 July 2019 serves as the Deputy Prime Minister of Greece. He briefly served as the caretaker Prime Minister of Greece from May 16, 2012 to June 20, 2012 after the legislative election in May 2012 resulted in an absence of majority. Early life Pikrammenos was born in Athens and is the son of Othon (Otto) Pikrammenos, a native of Patras and owner of the company "Hellenic and Foreign Press Union". Pikrammenos' paternal grandfather was Takis Pikrammenos, founder of the company, while his mother's side descends from the old Chaireti family. Pikrammenos graduated from the German School of Athens in 1963 and from the Law School at Athens' Kapodistrian University in 1968. Georgios P. Zanias ( el, Γιώργος Π. Ζανιάς, , born 16 August 1955 in Orchomenus) was briefly Minister of Finance in Greece from May to July 2012. In June 2012 he was due to be replaced by Vassilis Rapanos. Instead, he was replaced by economist Yiannis Stournaras. Zanias was one of the chief negotiators of the bailout of Greece in 2011-2012. Career Zanias is Professor of Economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business where he served as Chair of the Department of International and European Economic Studies. Yannis (or Giannis) Stournaras ( el, Γιάννης Στουρνάρας; born 10 December 1956) is a Greek economist who has been the Governor of the Bank of Greece since June 2014. Previously, he had been the Greek Minister of Finance from 5 July 2012 serving until 10 June 2014. As every Governor of an IMF member country, he is on the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund. General Frangoulis Frangos ( el, Φραγκούλης Φράγκος, born Komotini 1951) is a retired Greek Army officer, former chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff and former Minister for National Defence. He was born in Komotini and entered the Hellenic Military Academy in 1970, graduating in 1974 first of his class and being named a Second Lieutenant of Infantry.
