Segundo Cardona FAIA (born 1950) is a Puerto Rican architect and developer. His work has been recognized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), by the ''Colegio de Arquitectos y Arquitectos Paisajistas de Puerto Rico'' (Puerto Rico College of Architects and Landscape Architects, or CAAPPR, for its acronym in Spanish) as well as by the International Union of Architects. In 2006 Cardona was elected as Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. In 1992, he was awarded the Henry Klumb Award. Education and Career Cardona entered the School of Architecture of the University of Puerto Rico and was a member of its first graduating class, obtaining a B.Arch in 1972. He was a design professor in the UPR (1974–1984) and was principal at Segundo Cardona Architects before co-founding in 1984 Sierra Cardona Ferrer (now known as SCF Architects) with partners Luis Sierra and Alberto Ferrer. Cardona, Rizal
Cardona, officially the Municipality of Cardona ( tgl, Bayan ng Cardona), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 50,143 people. Cardona is part of the 2nd Congressional District of Rizal. Located about east of Manila. With the continuous expansion of Metro Manila, the municipality is now part of Manila's conurbation which reaches Cardona in its easternmost part. In 1855, Cardona was created as a town of the District of Morong, with boundaries set in 1857. Later in June 1901, Cardona formed part of the newly created Province of Rizal through Act 137 promulgated by the Philippine Commission. In 1903, Act 942 annexed the town to the Municipality of Morong. Eleven years then, the Executive Order 108 issued by Governor-General Francis Burton Harrison has established the town as an independent municipality. Cardona is a town in the Spanish region of Catalonia, in the province of Barcelona; about northwest of the city of Barcelona, on a hill almost surrounded by the river Cardener, a branch of the Llobregat. To the east of the town, the river has been diverted through a tunnel has been dug through a spur, leaving a loop of dry river bed near the saltmine. Near the town is an extensive deposit of rock salt. The salt forms a mountain mass (called ''Muntanya de Sal'') covered by a thick bed of a reddish-brown clay, and apparently resting on a yellowish-grey sandstone. It is generally more or less translucent, and large masses of it are quite transparent. Cardona is a city in the Soriano Department, in southwestern Uruguay. The main square of the city is Plaza Artigas, featuring a monument to General Artigas. Isla Cardona, also known as Sor Isolina Ferré Island, is a small, uninhabited island located 1.30 nautical miles south of the mainland Puerto Rican shore across from Barrio Playa, on the west side of the entrance to the harbor of Ponce, Puerto Rico. The small island is considered part of barrio Playa. It is home to the 1889 Cardona Island Light, which is listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
