Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School
The Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School is a comprehensive school and sixth form for boys located in West Derby, Liverpool, L12 9HZ, England. History The school is named after Cardinal John Carmel Heenan. Until 1983 it was known as Cardinal Allen Grammar School, when it merged with St Margaret Mary's Boys' School. It opened in September 1958 with around 300 boys when administered by the Liverpool Education Committee. Next door was the Convent of Mercy (R.C. Girls) High School, a girls' grammar school on ''Yew Tree Lane''. The school was originally based at two sites, one for Year 7 and 8 (years 1 and 2 of the old school year system) around half a mile (800m) from the main building on ''Pilch Lane'', Huyton. Voluntary Aided School
A voluntary aided school (VA school) is a state-funded school in England and Wales in which a foundation or trust (usually a religious organisation), contributes to building costs and has a substantial influence in the running of the school. In most cases the foundation or trust owns the buildings. Such schools have more autonomy than voluntary controlled schools, which are entirely funded by the state. In some circumstances local authorities can help the governing body in buying a site, or can provide a site or building free of charge. Steven Gerrard
Steven George Gerrard (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player, who most recently managed club Aston Villa. Adam Rowe
Adam Rowe (; born 11 January 1992) is an English stand-up comedian and podcaster from Liverpool. Early life Rowe was brought up in Dovecot and West Derby areas of Liverpool, England. Rowe attended Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School in Knotty Ash, in which he details the anomalous quantity of murderers who attended the school in his academic year. Rowe started a maths degree at the University of Liverpool but did not complete it in order to concentrate on performing comedy. Badfinger
Badfinger were a Welsh rock band formed in Swansea, who were active from the 1960s to the 1980s. Their best-known lineup consisted of Pete Ham (vocals, guitar), Mike Gibbins (drums), Tom Evans (bass), and Joey Molland (guitar). They are recognised for their influence on the 1970s power pop genre. It is estimated that the band sold 14 million records. The band renamed themselves Badfinger, after the working title for the Beatles' 1967 song "With a Little Help from My Friends" ("Bad Finger Boogie"). Joey Molland
Joseph Charles Molland (born 21 June 1947, Edge Hill, Liverpool) is an English songwriter and rock guitarist whose recording career spans five decades. He is best known as a member of Badfinger, the most successful of the acts he performed with. Molland is the last surviving member from the band's classic line-up. He lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Career Originally a member of several rock groups around Liverpool, such as The Assassins and The Profiles, Molland began his recording career in 1965 when he joined The Masterminds. This group released a single on Immediate Records IM 005, consisting of a cover version of Bob Dylan's "She Belongs to Me" backed with a band original, "Taken My Love". David Price (born 31 August 1971) is an English former footballer. He played professionally in both England and the USA. Youth playing career Price captained both the U19 Merseyside Boys team and Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School who won the Great Britain National Championship in 1990. John Welsh (English Footballer)
John Joseph Welsh (born 10 January 1984) is an English former professional footballer who played as midfielder. Welsh notably played in the Premier League for Liverpool, where he began his career before playing for Hull City, Chester City, Carlisle United, Bury, Tranmere Rovers and Grimsby Town. Carl Philip Tremarco (born 11 October 1985) is a retired English professional footballer who played as a left-back. Career Tremarco began his career as a trainee at Tranmere Rovers in August 2003 and made his first team debut in December 2003 against Hornchurch in the 2nd round of the FA Cup. David Price (born 6 July 1983) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 2009 to 2019. At regional level, he held multiple heavyweight championships, including the British and Commonwealth titles from 2012 to 2013, and challenged once for the European title in 2015. Bradley James Orr (born 1 November 1982) is an English retired footballer. Career Newcastle United & loans Born in Liverpool, Merseyside, Bradley Orr started his senior career with Newcastle United, and was loaned out to Burnley due to lack of opportunities in the first team.
