Cardiac Arrest (film)
''Cardiac Arrest'' is a 1980 American slasher thriller film written and directed by Murray Mintz, and starring Garry Goodrow, Max Gail and Fred Ward. Plot The city of San Francisco is pushed into a state of terror and fear as a deranged murderer stalks the city. The police are baffled by the case and are led to extremes by a lunatic whose victims all have something in common: their hearts have been skillfully and surgically removed. Meanwhile, across town, a man must make a difficult decision regarding his wife, who needs a transplant. Maxwell Trowbridge Gail Jr. (born April 5, 1943) is an American actor who has starred on stage, and in television and film roles. He is best known for his role as Detective Stan "Wojo" Wojciehowicz on the sitcom ''Barney Miller'' (1975–1982), which earned him two consecutive Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series nominations. Garry Goodrow (November 4, 1933 – July 22, 2014) was an American actor known for his role in the original stage production of the Obie Award-winning play ''The Connection'' (1959) and its 1961 film version, and as one of the original members of The Committee improvisational group. In ''The Connection'', Goodrow played the young, intense, morose, would-be jazz musician Ernie, a heroin addict whose horn is more often than not at the pawn shop. Career The Malone, New York-born Goodrow was a member of the Living Theater and appeared in the stage and film productions of '' The Connection''. Freddie Joe Ward (December 30, 1942 – May 8, 2022) was an American actor and producer. Maurice Saul Argent (4 March 1916 – 7 December 1981) was a character actor from Pennsylvania who acted between 1957 and 1980. Marjorie Lee Eaton (February 5, 1901 – April 21, 1986) was an American painter, photographer and character actress best known for physically portraying Emperor Palpatine in the original release of ''The Empire Strikes Back'', though her face was masked and her voice dubbed. The 2004 DVD release of the film had her replaced by the best-known portrayer of the character, Ian McDiarmid.
