Carbunup River is a small town in the South West region of Western Australia. At the 2021 census, it had a population of 112. It is situated between Dunsborough and Margaret River on the banks of the Carbunup River. The townsite was declared in 1926 as Carbunup but the name was changed in 1958 to Carbunup River to prevent confusion with the town of Carbarup near Mount Barker. Vasse is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in Western Australia. Vasse is based in the South West region of the state, centred on the town of Busselton and is named for the Vasse River. It has been a safe seat for the Liberal Party at all times since its creation, including as its previous incarnation, Sussex. The 2021 Australian census, simply called the 2021 Census, was the eighteenth national Census of Population and Housing in Australia. The 2021 Census took place on 10 August 2021, and was conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). Mount Barker is a town on Albany Highway and the administrative centre of the Shire of Plantagenet in the Great Southern region of Western Australia.
