A captive portal is a web page accessed with a web browser that is displayed to newly connected users of a Wi-Fi or wired network before they are granted broader access to network resources. Captive NTFS
Captive NTFS is a discontinued open-source project in the Linux programming community, started by Jan Kratochvíl. It is a driver wrapper around the original Microsoft Windows NTFS file system driver using parts of ReactOS code. By taking this approach, it aimed to provide safe write support to NTFS partitions. Until the release of NTFS-3G, it was the only Linux NTFS driver with full write support. On January 26, 2006 Kratochvíl released version 1.1.7 of the package. It restores compatibility with recent Linux kernels by replacing the obsolete LUFS (Linux Userland File System) module with FUSE (File System in Userspace), which as of Linux 2.6.14 has been part of the official Linux kernel. Captive insurance is an alternative to self-insurance in which a parent group or groups create a licensed insurance company to provide coverage for itself. The main purpose of doing so is to avoid using traditional commercial insurance companies, which have volatile pricing and may not meet the specific needs of the company. By creating their own insurance company, the parent company can reduce their costs, insure difficult risks, have direct access to reinsurance markets, and increase cash flow. ''Captive'' is a science fiction role-playing video game released by Mindscape in 1990. In the style of '' Dungeon Master'', it uses pseudo-3D realtime graphics from a first-person perspective. It was released for Amiga, Atari ST, and, in 1992, MS-DOS. The player characters are androids (termed "droids" in the game) operated remotely by a prisoner trying to free himself. The player assumes the role of the prisoner, and the game involves visiting and destroying a series of bases on different planets. Plot Trill, the main character, is judged guilty (indicated for a crime he did not commit) and ordered in a space cryogenic prison for 250 years. 248 years later, he awakes, but without the memory of who he is, where he is and why he was imprisoned. The soundtrack for the 1986 Anglo-French cinema film ''Captive'' is the only solo album to date by The Edge, guitarist of U2. It is also the only solo album to date by one of the members of U2. The Edge approached Michael Brook, creator of the Infinite Guitar, which The Edge regularly uses, to collaborate on this soundtrack album; Brook co-produced and helped with the instrumentals and some of the writing. Edge also approached a young vocalist just beginning to appear on the Dublin scene to provide vocals for the main theme. This was Sinéad O'Connor, who would shortly afterwards release her debut album. She and The Edge's U2 bandmate Larry Mullen Jr. contributed to "Heroine", with O'Connor providing lead vocals and Mullen providing drums. The music on ''Captive'' is a mix of ambient styles. "Captive" is the fifth episode of the second season, and the 11th episode overall of the post-apocalyptic horror television series '' Fear the Walking Dead'', which aired on AMC on May 8, 2016.
