Captive Insurance
Captive insurance is an alternative to self-insurance in which a parent group or groups create a licensed insurance company to provide coverage for itself. The main purpose of doing so is to avoid using traditional commercial insurance companies, which have volatile pricing and may not meet the specific needs of the company. By creating their own insurance company, the parent company can reduce their costs, insure difficult risks, have direct access to reinsurance markets, and increase cash flow. When a company creates a captive they are indirectly able to evaluate the risks of subsidiaries, write policies, set premiums and ultimately either return unused funds in the form of profits, or invest them for future claim payouts. ''Captive'' is a 2015 American crime-drama thriller film directed by Jerry Jameson and written by Brian Bird and Reinhard Denke, based on the non-fiction book ''Unlikely Angel'' by Ashley Smith. A true story about Brian Nichols, who escapes from the Fulton County courthouse in Atlanta on March 11, 2005 and holds Ashley Smith as a hostage, the film stars David Oyelowo as Nichols and Kate Mara as Smith. Filming began in October 2013 in North Carolina. The film was released worldwide on September 18, 2015 by Paramount Pictures. Plot On March 11, 2005, Brian Nichols escapes from the Fulton County courthouse in Atlanta, during his trial involving a rape case. In the process of the escape he murders the judge presiding over his trial, Rowland Barnes, as well as court reporter Julie Brandau. ''Captive'' is a science fiction role-playing video game released by Mindscape in 1990. In the style of '' Dungeon Master'', it uses pseudo-3D realtime graphics from a first-person perspective. It was released for Amiga, Atari ST, and, in 1992, MS-DOS. The player characters are androids (termed "droids" in the game) operated remotely by a prisoner trying to free himself. The player assumes the role of the prisoner, and the game involves visiting and destroying a series of bases on different planets. Plot The film takes place in the summer of 2000, during the Chechen War. Two Russian soldiers are instructed to call for help for the army column that fell under fire and left unattended. During the assignment, they take a prisoner of the Chechen youth Jamal. Apparently unadapted for the burdens of war, the young man evokes sympathy from the elder of the soldiers, Rubakhin. "Captive" is the fifth episode of the second season, and the 11th episode overall of the post-apocalyptic horror television series '' Fear the Walking Dead'', which aired on AMC on May 8, 2016. This episode marked the final appearance of Michelle Ang as Alex from the '' Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462'' webisodes. Ang only appeared in two episodes credited as a series regular. Plot The group tends to the wounds of Reed, who they have taken hostage, and discover that he is the brother of Connor, the leader of the group of pirates. The soundtrack for the 1986 Anglo-French cinema film ''Captive'' is the only solo album to date by The Edge, guitarist of U2. It is also the only solo album to date by one of the members of U2. The Edge approached Michael Brook, creator of the Infinite Guitar, which The Edge regularly uses, to collaborate on this soundtrack album; Brook co-produced and helped with the instrumentals and some of the writing. Edge also approached a young vocalist just beginning to appear on the Dublin scene to provide vocals for the main theme. This was Sinéad O'Connor, who would shortly afterwards release her debut album. She and The Edge's U2 bandmate Larry Mullen Jr. contributed to "Heroine", with O'Connor providing lead vocals and Mullen providing drums. The music on ''Captive'' is a mix of ambient styles.
