Captains Of Industry (record Label)
The Captains of Industry were an independent record label based in London and Durham, UK. They announced their launch in 2003 "as a self-funded experiment in art and commerce" with a plan to exist for 5 years, and as a result ceased trading while in profit in 2008. They released material by artists including Hell Is for Heroes, The Grates, Peace Burial at Sea, Gay for Johnny Depp, The SoundEx, Marmaduke Duke, Kinesis, TEAM and Sucioperro. Captains of Industry 'ceased trading' as of 1 April 2008, claiming to have achieved their '5 year plan' - to "release some cool records". Independent Record Label
An independent record label (or indie label) is a record label that operates without the funding or distribution of major record labels; they are a type of small- to medium-sized enterprise, or SME. The labels and artists are often represented by trade associations in their country or region, which in turn are represented by the international trade body, the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN). TEAM (UK Band)
A team is a group of individuals (human or non-human) working together to achieve their goal. ''Transmit Disrupt'' is the second album from Hell Is for Heroes and features 12 tracks. It was released in the United Kingdom in March 2005 while the band wasn't under a record label; consequently the album didn't get a lot of promotion. The singles "Kamichi", "One Of Us", "Discos and Casinos" and "Models for the Programme" were taken from the album. Kinesis (band)
Kinesis were an alternative rock band from Bolton, England. The group formed in September 2000 whilst at school, and split after five years in June 2005. During this time they recorded two full studio albums, a mini album and several singles under three record labels. Members The band consisted of Michael Bromley (vocals, guitar), Neil Chow (drums, vocals), Tom Marshall (bass guitar, vocals) and Conor McGloin (guitar) Recording history Their first recording was the five track, self-released EP, ''The Flowers Are Dead'', which was followed up by a mini-album, ''Worship Yourself''. Marmaduke Duke are a Scottish conceptual rock duo from Ayrshire, Scotland, comprising Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro and JP Reid of Sucioperro. Within the band, the pair perform under the pseudonyms The Atmosphere and The Dragon respectively.
