Captain Tsubasa (video Game)
''Tecmo Cup Soccer Game'', known as ''Captain Tsubasa'' in Japan and ''Tecmo Cup Football Game'' in Europe, is an association football sports video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Released in 1992 by Tecmo, the objective of the game is fighting your way from junior league all the way to the finals of World Cup. The game is based on the ''Captain Tsubasa'' manga series. ''Tecmo Cup Soccer Game'' is a heavily Americanized version of the Japanese ''Captain Tsubasa'' game released for the Family Computer system, featuring a different main character, a different introduction and more western-looking players. The game contains elements from role-playing games as the players have skill levels and are mostly controlled by different kinds of text commands. , was a Japanese video game corporation founded in 1967. It had its headquarters in Kudankita, Chiyoda, Tokyo. Its subsidiary, Tecmo Inc, was located in Torrance, California. Tecmo was formerly known as Tehkan. Tecmo Cup Football Game
''Tecmo Cup Football Game'' is a cancelled 1993 association football sports video game. While the game was about to be published by Sega with license from Tecmo for the Sega Mega Drive, it was cancelled due to the release department of Sega Europe's policy regarding third party games (along with many other games, most of them that already had a Japanese release, like ''Splatterhouse 3'' or ''Golden Axe III''). The game would have enjoyed a Europe-exclusive release because the game was heavily promoted on many magazines and promo videos at the time. 'SuperJuegos' magazine from Spain even had a VHS promotion video including footage of the game and promoting its further release. There is a ROM of this game available on the Internet despite not having been released in cartridge form. Tehkan World Cup
originally released as in Japan, is an association football video game released to arcades in 1985 by Tehkan, the former name of Tecmo. It features multiplayer gameplay and trackball controllers. It was released in both upright and table arcade cabinets, but was most commonly released in a cocktail cabinet form factor. Its arrival coincided with the buildup to the 1986 FIFA World Cup. It featured the then colors of several of the world's top teams such as West Germany, Argentina and Brazil, although it did not mention any team by name. The game uses a bird's-eye view, with the trackball controls allowing game physics such as controlling both the direction and speed of the shot. The gameplay format was adapted from the American football game ''Gridiron Fight'', developed by the same team and released earlier in the year, for an association football game, but with the controls simplified down to a trackball and single action button.
