Captain Pirate
''Captain Pirate'' is a 1952 American adventure film directed by Ralph Murphy and starring Louis Hayward. The swashbuckler was based on the 1931 Rafael Sabatini novel '' Captain Blood Returns''. This was the final film directed by Murphy. Plot Captain Blood is pardoned by the Crown for his crimes against Spain on the Spanish Main. By 1690 he is living in the West Indies on his plantation where he practices medicine and is to be married to Isabella. His new life is put in danger when he is arrested on a piracy charge after somebody raids the island making him look guilty. To prove otherwise he has to sail again. Ralph Murphy
Ralph Murphy (May 1, 1895 – February 10, 1967) was an American film and television director. Born in Rockville, Connecticut, Murphy was active in films from 1931 through 1962, with some work in television. From 1941 to 1944 he was married to Gloria Dickson, whom he directed in ''I Want a Divorce''. Malú Gatica
Henrietta Maria de la Luz Gatica Boisier (January 15, 1922 – August 10, 1997), known as Malú Gatica, was a Chilean actress and singer. Biography Gatica was born in Purén. With her parents, the journalist Roberto Gatica and Leonie Boisier, Gatica moved to New York in 1928 where she attended elementary and secondary school, as well as studying languages and music. Her first public appearance occurred as a singer at the age of 16 on NBC, where her father worked. Later, in Buenos Aires, she studied theater at the Conservatoire Cunill Cabanellas. Her maternal grandfather was the French settler, French José Boisier Bourgeaux. In 1948 in the US, she married Eugene Fell, an American military attaché at the Mexican Embassy; they had a son, Leon. The marriage did not last long and she lost custody of her child. Sven Hugo Borg
Sven Hugo Borg (July 26, 1896 - February 19, 1981) was a Swedish-American character actor. Biography Sven Hugo Borg was born in Vinslöv, Skåne län, Sweden. Early in his career, Borg was a secretary with the Swedish Consulate in Los Angeles. While working at the consulate he met the actress Greta Garbo who had recently arrived in Hollywood. Garbo asked Borg to be her interpreter for an upcoming movie to which he readily agreed. He served as Garbo's interpreter from 1925 to 1929. After interpreting for Greta, Borg decided to pursue acting as a career. He had done some dramatic work on the Swedish stage. He continued to remain with the consulate until the late 1930s. Borg became much in demand during World War II Hollywood films, playing both Nazi officers and Scandinavian resistance fighters.
