Capri Watch Cup
The Tennis Napoli Cup (formerly the Capri Watch Cup) is a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor red clay courts. It is currently part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger Tour. It is held annually at the Tennis Club Napoli in Naples, Italy, since 1995. The event was given a single-year ATP 250 license in 2022 due to the cancellation of tournaments in China because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. History The tournament is the modern iteration of one of the oldest tennis championships in Italy, the Campionato Partenopeo (''Parthenopean Championship''), which for men's singles was first contested in 1905. The 2022 Tennis Napoli Cup was a professional men's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 21st edition of the tournament, and part of the ATP Tour 250 series of the 2022 ATP Tour. It took place at the Tennis Club Napoli in Naples, Italy from 17 to 23 October 2022. The tournament was upgraded from an ATP Challenger Tour event to an ATP Tour 250 event this year. It was one of the six tournaments that were given single-year ATP 250 licenses in September and October 2022 due to the cancellation of tournaments in China because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Potito Starace
Potito Starace (; born 14 July 1981) is an Italian retired professional tennis player on the ATP Tour. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of world no. 27 on October 15, 2007. He was a clay court specialist, and was coached by Umberto Rianna. Starace was banned from tennis for life by the Italian Tennis Federation and by the Tennis Integrity Unit for betting offences. Career One of the most memorable runs of Starace's career was when he made the men's doubles semifinals of the 2012 French Open, partnering Daniele Bracciali, before succumbing to top seeds Daniel Nestor and Max Mirnyi.
