Capo Milazzo Lighthouse ( it, Faro di Capo Milazzo) is an active lighthouse located at the northern extremity of the peninsula of Capo di Milazzo which extends toward the Tyrrhenian Sea in the province of Milazzo. Description The first lighthouse was built in 1853, than rebuilt in 1891 and recently restored in 2013. It consists of a massive white cylindrical tower with four buttresses, high, with balcony and lantern The lantern, painted in grey metallic, is positioned at above sea level and emits one long white flash in a 6 seconds period, visible at of distance. The lighthouse is fully automated, powered by a solar unit and is operated by the Marina Militare and is identified by the code number 3268 E.F. Milazzo ( Sicilian: ''Milazzu''; la, Mylae; ) is a town (''comune'') in the Metropolitan City of Messina, Sicily, southern Italy; it is the largest commune in the Metropolitan City after Messina and Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto.
