Capi (newspaper)
''Capi'' is a Tenyidie newspaper published from Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. It is the oldest existing vernacular daily in Nagaland and is widely circulated in Kohima, Chümoukedima, Dimapur and Phek. History ''Capi'' was founded in 1988 by Vikesel Neikha (publisher) and R. Solhou (editor). The newspaper was issued weekly, biweekly and tri-weekly. In 1997, the newspaper was relaunched as a daily newspaper. ''Capi'' shifted from manual print to offset printing in 2003. On 16 November 2015, ''Capi'' published its front page in blank along with four other state newspapers—''Eastern Mirror'', ''The Morung Express'', '' Nagaland Page'' and '' Tir Yimyim'' to protest against a diktat from the Assam Rifles. The Assam Rifles in a letter to the editors in October had ordered the editors to stop covering news related to the rebel group— National Socialist Council of Nagaland - Khaplang (NSCN-K). Offset Printing
Offset printing is a common printing technique in which the inked image is transferred (or "offset") from a plate to a rubber blanket and then to the printing surface. When used in combination with the lithographic process, which is based on the repulsion of oil and water, the offset technique employs a flat (planographic) image carrier. Ink rollers transfer ink to the image areas of the image carrier, while a water roller applies a water-based film to the non-image areas. National Socialist Council Of Nagaland
The National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) is a Naga nationalist separatist group operating mainly in Northeast India, with minor activities in northwest Myanmar (Burma). The main aim of the organisation is to establish a sovereign Naga state, "Nagalim", which would consist of all the areas belonging to the Naga people in Northeast India and northwest Myanmar. The NSCN's slogan is "Nagaland for Christ". There were once two major factions of the NSCN which include the former NSCN (K), which was led by S. S. Khaplang; and the still active NSCN (I-M), led by now by Isak Chishi Swu and formerly by Thuingaleng Muivah. Assam Rifles
The Assam Rifles (AR) is a central paramilitary force responsible for border security, counter-insurgency, and maintaining law and order in Northeast India. It guards the Indo-Myanmar border. The Assam rifles is the oldest paramilitary force of India and Its comes under the administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, while its operational control is maintained by the Indian Army. A diktat (german: label=from German, Diktat, ) is a statute, harsh penalty or settlement imposed upon a defeated party by the victor, or a dogmatic decree.
