Cape Hope
Cape Hope ( da, Kap Hope; kl, Noorajik Kangitteq, meaning 'the western little cape') is a headland in the Scoresby Sound, east Greenland, Sermersooq municipality. There was a settlement east of the cape known as Kap Hope ''(Ittaajimmiit)''. Everton, Liverpool
Everton is a district in Liverpool, in Merseyside, England, in the Liverpool City Council ward of Everton. It is part of the Liverpool Walton Parliamentary constituency. Ittoqqortoormiit
Ittoqqortoormiit (East Greenlandic: ; West Greenlandic: ''Illoqqortoormiut'' ), formerly known as Scoresbysund, is a settlement in the Sermersooq municipality in eastern Greenland. Its population was 345 as of 2020 and has been described as one of the most remote settlements on earth. The former name Scoresbysund derives from the English Arctic explorer and whaler William Scoresby, who was the first European to map the area in 1822. The name "Ittoqqortoormiit" means "Big-House Dwellers" in the Eastern Greenlandic dialect. The region is known for its wildlife, including polar bears, muskoxen, and seals. Hurry Inlet
Hurry Inlet ( da, Hurry Fjord; kl, Kangerterajiva, meaning 'The Little Fjord') is a fjord in King Christian X Land, eastern Greenland. This fjord is part of the Scoresby Sound system. Administratively it lies in the area of Sermersooq municipality. Nerlerit Inaat Airport is located on the western side of the fjord. Liverpool Land is a peninsula in eastern Greenland. Geography The peninsula is bounded by Scoresby Sund in the south, Carlsberg Fjord in the northwest, ''Kangerterajiva'' (Hurry Inlet) in the southwest, the Greenland Sea in the east, and Jameson Land in the west. It was named by William Scoresby, who thought that Hurry Inlet had a confluence with Carlsberg Fjord, separating Liverpool Land from Jameson Land. Samuel Hope Morley, 1st Baron Hollenden DL JP (3 July 1845 – 18 February 1929), was a British businessman. Early life Morley was the son of Samuel Morley and Rebekah Maria Hope, daughter of Samuel Hope of Liverpool. The Liberal politician Arnold Morley was his younger brother. He completed a master's degree at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1872. His maternal grandfather was Samuel Hope of Liverpool and his paternal grandparents were Sarah ( Poulton) Morley and John Morley, a hosiery manufacturer. Career He was a partner in the firm of I. and R. Morley, Wood street; and served as Governor of the Bank of England from 1893 to 1895. William Scoresby
William Scoresby (5 October 178921 March 1857) was an English whaler, Arctic explorer, scientist and clergyman. Early years Scoresby was born in the village of Cropton near Pickering south-west of Whitby in Yorkshire. His father, William Scoresby (1760–1829), made a fortune in the Arctic whale fishery and was also the inventor of the barrel crow's nest. The son made his first voyage with his father at the age of eleven, but then returned to school, where he remained until 1803. After this he became his father's constant companion, and accompanied him as chief officer of the whaler ''Resolution'' when on 25 May 1806, he succeeded in reaching 81°30' N. lat.
