Cape Cross (horse)
Cape Cross (13 March 1994 – 21 April 2017) was an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse. He is a son of the July Cup winner Green Desert and Cheveley Park Stakes, winner Park Appeal who was the Champion two-year-old filly in England and Ireland in 1984. Racing career As a two-year-old Cape Cross raced twice, winning his maiden on the second attempt. His first start as a three-year-old was in the Craven Stakes, where he finished third. This was followed by an eighth place in the 2000 Guineas. He only won once as a three-year-old. He won the Lockinge Stakes as a four-year-old, when starting a 20/1 outsider. He won twice as a five-year-old, the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Celebration Mile. Stud career Since retiring to stud, Cape Cross has sired the winners of 21 group 1 races worldwide. he stood at the Kildangan Stud in Ireland at a fee of €35,000. Green Desert (horse)
Green Desert (16 April 1983 – 9 September 2015) was an American-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. Racing career 1985: two-year-old season After finishing second on his racecourse debut, Green Desert won the July Stakes over six furlongs at Newmarket Racecourse. He then finished second to Nomination in the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood before dropping back to five furlongs to win the Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster Racecourse. On his final appearance of the season he finished fourth to Luqman in the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury. 1986: three-year-old season Green Desert began his second season by winning the European Free Handicap over seven furlongs at Newmarket and then finished second to Dancing Brave in the 2000 Guineas. Seachange (foaled 14 November 2002) is a top New Zealand thoroughbred racehorse. She won a record seven Group I races in New Zealand. Her regular rider in New Zealand was Gavin McKeon. Racing career Seachange began racing in September 2005, as a 3yo, and won her first start at Paeroa by half a length. She won four additional races during that campaign, including the Group I New Zealand 1000 Guineas, and remained undefeated. In July 2006, Seachange won at Waikato. In her next start, second up at Waikato, she suffered her first defeat, being beaten by less than a length by Bulginbaah and Don't Ya Lovett. Champions Mile
The Champions Mile is a Group 1 flat horse race in Hong Kong for three-year-old and above thoroughbreds run over a distance of 1,600 metres (approximately 1 mile) on the turf at Sha Tin Racecourse with the total purse of HK$14m in 2014/15, approximately US$1.8m. It was first run in 2001, and was opened to international competition in 2005 and granted an international grade 1 status in 2007. Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf
The Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf is a Weight for Age Thoroughbred horse race on turf for fillies and mares, three years old and up. It is held annually at a different racetrack in the United States as part of the Breeders' Cup World Championships. The race is run at either or , depending on the turf course configuration at the Breeders' Cup host track. For tracks which can accommodate either distance (Belmont, Woodbine, and Santa Anita ), it is run at miles. The 2015 edition at Keeneland was conducted at miles because that track's turf course configuration does not allow for the two regular distances to be conducted on it. It is run at the Curragh over a distance of 1 mile and 4 furlongs (2,414 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in July.
