Cap Roig Festival
The Cap Roig Festival is an annual music festival held in the town of Calella de Palafrugell, Spain. Beginning in 2001, the event is held between July and August at the Castell de Cap Roig. Both national and international artists performed at the festival, such as Sting, Damien Rice and Andrea Bocelli. The area of the garden is 17 hectares, and holds a capacity of 2,118 people. The festival generates more than 15 million euros and 220 full-time jobs during the summer months. History The construction of the castle and the gardens began in 1931. Built and designed by married couple Nicolai Woevodsky and Dorothy Woevodsky, the couple left their life in London to build their dreams in this unique place by the sea. Calella De Palafrugell
Calella de Palafrugell is one of three coastal towns belonging to the municipality of Palafrugell in the province of Girona, Spain. The other two towns are Llafranc, only to the north, and Tamariu, some to the north. All three towns are part of the Costa Brava, the coastal region of northeastern Catalonia, in the comarca of Baix Empordà. It should not be confused with the larger, more commercialised resort of Calella, which is further south towards Barcelona, in the comarca of Maresme. Calella de Palafrugell has an excellent setting and, whilst busy in the summer season, it does not have the large hotels and mass tourism of other Costa Brava resorts such as Lloret de Mar. The town has a number of good standard hotels, apartments and, at a distance from the beach, some campsites. Maceo Parker (; born February 14, 1943) is an American funk and soul jazz saxophonist, best known for his work with James Brown in the 1960s, Parliament-Funkadelic in the 1970s and Prince in the 2000s. Parker was a prominent soloist on many of Brown's hit recordings, and a key part of his band, playing alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. Since the early 1990s, he has toured under his own name. Sara Pereyra Baras (born April 25, 1971) is a Spanish flamenco dancer and choreographer born in San Fernando (Cádiz) who has established her own dance company. Biography Sara was born in San Fernando, in the province of Cádiz, in 1971, where she began her dance studies at her mother’s school, Concha Baras. Shortly after, she joined the company Los Niños de la Tertulia Flamenca, with which she toured the flamenco festivals of Barcelona. Igor Yebra Iglesias (born August 1, 1974, Bilbao) is a Spanish freelance ballet dancer. Early life Igor Yebra was born in Bilbao, Spain, and was encouraged to start dancing by his parents, two music and dance enthusiasts who named him Igor in honour of the title character in Borodin's opera. Surrounded by ballet and music during his childhood, primarily due to his parents' dance school, Igor never considered becoming a professional dancer and, just like other Spanish children, he dreamed of being a football player. Chano Domínguez (born Sebastián Domínguez Lozano; 29 March 1960, Cádiz) is a Spanish Latin jazz, post bop and flamenco pianist.
