Caspar Weinberger
Caspar Willard Weinberger (August 18, 1917 – March 28, 2006) was an American statesman and businessman. As a prominent Republican, he served in a variety of state and federal positions for three decades, including chairman of the California Republican Party, 1962–1968. Most notably he was Secretary of Defense under President Ronald Reagan from 1981 to 1987. Weinberger was born in San Francisco, California. He served in the 41st Infantry Division in the Pacific theater of World War II. Weinberger's entry into politics was as a California State Assemblyman from 1953 to 1959, and he would go on to serve as Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission and Director of the Office of Management and Budget under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. Cap Timm
Leroy Clinton "Cap" Timm (June 4, 1908 – August 7, 1987) was the longest tenured college baseball coach for the Iowa State Cyclones baseball, Iowa State University Cyclones located in Ames, Iowa and he held that position from the 1938 season through the 1942 season and again from the 1946 season through the 1974 season, with his tenure being interrupted due to service in World War II. In his tenure, he led Iowa State to three conference titles and two College World Series appearances. Timm died on August 7, 1987. He was inducted into the Iowa State Hall of Fame in 1997. The school's ballpark, Cap Timm Field, is named in his honor. Playing career Timm attended high school in Arlington, Minnesota, before attending the University of Minnesota. Andrew "Cap" Tilles (November 25, 1865 – November 22, 1951) was an American business magnate and philanthropist. At an early age, Tilles adopted his childhood nickname of Cap, which he used for the rest of his life. Tilles revolutionized the United States horse racing industry. Later in life, Tilles dedicated his resources to philanthropic projects in St. Louis, Missouri. George Streeter
George Wellington "Cap" Streeter (1837 – January 22, 1921) was an American who became infamous in Chicago for his real estate schemes and oftentimes bizarre eccentricity. From 1886 to 1921, Streeter, often through forgery and other manipulative means, attempted to lay claim to of Lake Michigan shoreline from various owners. Cap Raeder
Robert "Cap" Raeder (born October 8, 1953) is an American former ice hockey goaltender and Coach (hockey), coach. Raeder briefly played in the World Hockey Association, WHA for the New England Whalers in 1975–77 after starring for the University of New Hampshire men's ice hockey team in the early 1970s. His best year as a professional was in 1976 when he had the lowest goals against average of all goaltenders in the WHA playoffs. Based on the strength of that performance, he was later selected to the United States team at the inaugural 1976 Canada Cup. He later served as an interim head coach of the San Jose Sharks for one game in 2002, before taking a scouting position with the Sharks. In 2008, Raeder was hired as an assistant coach for the Tampa Bay Lightning. In August 2010, Raeder retired, and now runs camps and clinics. Charles Andrew "Cap" Peterson (August 15, 1942 – May 16, 1980) was an American Major League Baseball player. He was known as "Cap" from the initials of his name. An outfielder who appeared in eight MLB seasons, he played with the San Francisco Giants from 1962 to 1966, the Washington Senators from 1967 to 1968, and the Cleveland Indians in 1969.
