"Canção do Mar" (in English: "Song of the Sea") is a song in the fado tradition by Portuguese singer Amália Rodrigues initially recorded with the lyrics "Solidão" (in English: "Solitude") for the soundtrack of the film "Les amants du Tage" also known by the English title ''The Lovers of Lisbon'', and released as a single in 1954 by Columbia Records. The song was written by Frederico de Brito and Ferrer Trindade. "Canção do Mar" follows in the history of fado, closely tied to the port district of Lisbon with lyrics incorporating poetry often related to the sea. On 27 November 2011, fado was added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists. Tristão da Silva released a version in 1961, using the original title "Canção do Mar". Pink Martini is an American band that was founded in 1994 by pianist Thomas Lauderdale in Portland, Oregon. Group members call it a little orchestra that crosses several styles, such as classical, latin, traditional pop, and jazz. The co-lead vocalists of Pink Martini are China Forbes and Storm Large. History Thomas Lauderdale has worked in politics since his years in high school in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. He considered the music at most fundraisers loud and boring. "A Question of Honour" is a 1995 single by soprano Sarah Brightman, from her album ''Fly''. It peaked at No. 15 on the German Singles Chart in the last week of 1995, even though it was released over five months earlier. "A Question of Honour" was also the official song of the championship boxing match between Henry Maske and Graciano Rocchigiani in Germany. In Japan, TV Asahi adopted the song as the theme music of FIFA World Cup broadcasting since 2002 and plays it in related television programs. Frank Peterson
Frank Peterson (born 29 December 1963) is a German music producer known for his work with Enigma and artists such as Sarah Brightman, Ofra Haza, Gregorian, Princessa, and Andrea Bocelli on his first international album, ''Romanza''. Peterson was born in Hamburg. As a child, he taught himself to play the piano and keyboard, going on to work in a music store. It was here that he met Michael Cretu and became lead keyboardist for Sandra, appearing prominently on her hit single "Maria Magdalena".
