Giulio Cantoni
Giulio Leonardo Cantoni (29 September 1915 – 25 July 2005) was the director of the United States' National Institutes of Health's Laboratory of Cellular Pharmacology, later renamed the Laboratory of General and Comparative Biochemistry. Early life Cantoni grew up in Italy and got a medical degree from the University of Milan in 1938. Shortly after the fascists abolished the parliament, and introduced anti-Semitic laws, Cantoni, who was Jewish, fled with his family first to England. As Cantoni was boarding a ship heading for the America, World War II broke out, and as an Italian citizen he was interned in England and later in Canada. Eventually he was released and allowed to go to the United States in July 1941. Lelio Cantoni
Lelio Cantoni (1802, Gazzuolo, Dukedom of Mantua – 1857, Turin) was an Italian rabbi. In 1829 he entered the Istituto Rabbinico at Padua, then recently established, graduating as a rabbi in 1832. From 1833 until his death he was chief rabbi of Turin. Endowed with executive ability and magnetic personality, and being a man of deep piety, he ably bridged the gulf that separated the old and the modern views of Judaism. Recognizing his administrative ability, the government repeatedly entrusted Cantoni with the drafting of statutes affecting the Jewish communities. Tammy Cantoni (born 25 August 1972) is an Australian semi-professional pool and snooker player. She won the National championships in women's divisions in snooker (2004) and nine-ball (8 times from 1995 to 2009). She was the runner-up in the 2009 open (mixed-gender) division of the Australian Nine-ball Championship and in 2010 was listed 56th in the World Pool Billiard Association women rankings.
