Canton Of Vic-sur-Aisne
The canton of Vic-sur-Aisne is an administrative division in northern France. Coucy-la-Ville
Coucy-la-Ville () is a commune in the Aisne department in Hauts-de-France in northern France. On the main Chauny to Soissons road, shortly after the village of Folembray, take a right hand turn and within half a mile you will come to the village of Coucy-la-Ville. A single road runs through this small village passing a farm, a cafe-bar and a church. Then, as suddenly as you entered, you have left this small place. Up on the hill to your right you will see the remarkable view of the remains of the Château de Coucy, located in Coucy-le-Château-Auffrique. Down in Coucy-la-Ville, the area is flat and agricultural with its few houses dotted on either side of the road. Geography The villages is located in the northwestern part of the commune, on the left bank of the river Ailette, which flows west through the northern part of the commune, then joins the Oise, which forms most of the commune's northern border. Guny
Guny () is a commune in the Aisne department in Hauts-de-France in northern France. History In 858, Guny's village is given to the abbey of Notre-Dame of Soissons by Charles the Bold. In 1368, Enguerrand VII of Coucy grants the collectivity franchise to Guny and twenty-two other churches. 1914–1918, World War I devastated the village. From August 27 until September 28, the 11th and 20th infantry fight Battle of Ailette around Guny's quarries. Saint Georges' church is destroyed. It was restored in 1923. A new bell was inaugurated in November 1923, in a temporary church. Geography The river Ailette forms all of the commune's northeastern border.
