The canton of Oloron-Sainte-Marie-2 is an administrative division of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department, southwestern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Oloron-Sainte-Marie. Cantons Of France
The cantons of France are territorial subdivisions of the France, French Republic's Departments of France, departments and Arrondissements of France, arrondissements. Apart from their role as organizational units in relation to certain aspects of the administration of public services and justice, the chief purpose of the cantons today is to serve as Constituency, constituencies for the election of members of the representative assemblies established in each of France's territorial departments (Departmental council (France), departmental councils, formerly general councils). For this reason, such elections were known in France as "cantonal elections", until 2015 when their name was changed to "departmental elections" to match the departmental councils' name. Lys, Pyrénées-Atlantiques
Lys (; oc, Lo Lis) is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in southwestern France. Geography Hydrography The river , a 12.5 km long tributary of the Béez, passes through the village Lys. Several tributaries of the Landistou (Betbeder, Bonnasserre, Chourrup, Lazerau, Lespereu) also pass through the commune. The northern part of the commune is drained by the river , a 15.2 km long tributary of the Gave de Pau, and some of its tributaries (Gest, Herran, Luz de Casalis). The southern part of the commune is drained by the stream Ruisseau de la Fontaine de Mesplé (Béez basin), and its tributary Ruisseau de Subercase. Laruns
Laruns (; oc, Laruntz) is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in south-western France. It is situated at the confluence of two mountain streams, the Gave d'Ossau and its tributary, the Valentin. Formerly part of the province of Béarn, Laruns is now within the ''département'' of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, itself in France's Nouvelle-Aquitaine ''région''. It forms part of the ''arrondissement'' of Oloron-Sainte-Marie, and of the canton of Oloron-Sainte-Marie-2.
