The canton of Charente-Vienne is an administrative division of the Charente department, southwestern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Confolens. Cantons Of France
The cantons of France are territorial subdivisions of the France, French Republic's Departments of France, departments and Arrondissements of France, arrondissements. Apart from their role as organizational units in relation to certain aspects of the administration of public services and justice, the chief purpose of the cantons today is to serve as Constituency, constituencies for the election of members of the representative assemblies established in each of France's territorial departments (Departmental council (France), departmental councils, formerly general councils). Saint-Christophe, Charente
Saint-Christophe (; oc, Sent Crestòfa) is a commune in the Charente department in southwestern France. It is a member of the Charente Limousine group of coummunes bordering Haute-Vienne. It is located 14 km from Confolens and 67 km northeast of Angoulême . The village is also 5 km east of Lesterps , 13 km north of Saint-Junien , 18 km north-east of Chabanais , 21 km south-west of Bellac and 37 km north- west of Limoges 2 . The main road in the commune is the D 82 route from Confolens and Lesterps to Limoges via Oradour-sur-Glane , which crosses it from west to east. The village is also served by the D 163 which goes south-west to Chabanais, and the D 330 south to Brigueuil and Saint-Junien 3 . Pressignac (; oc, Pressinhac) is a commune in the Charente department in southwestern France. The village has thirty or so hamlets scattered around the outskirts. Lesterps
Lesterps (''L'Esterp'' in Limousin, an Occitan dialect) is a commune in the Charente department in southwestern France. The inhabitants are called ''Lesterrois'' and ''Lesterroises''. Geography Lesterps is located in Charente Limousin, in the north-east of the Charente department and borders Haute-Vienne. The village of Lesterps, 9 km east of Confolens, is a major market town. It is 16 km from Chabanais, 17 km from Saint-Junien, 42 km from Limoges and 63 km from Angoulême. The town is well served by roads. The D30, from Confolens to Limoges via Saint-Junien, crosses it from west to east, and the D29, from  Saulgond to  Brillac, crosses it from south to north. The D82 east of the village goes to Limoges via Saint-Christophe.
