Canterbury Hockey Club
Canterbury Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Canterbury, England. The club was established in 1901 and the home ground is located just outside Canterbury at Polo Farm. There are two water-based pitches, a topped sand based pitch, purpose built Indoor Hockey Centre and a clubhouse. The men's 1st XI play in the Men's England Hockey League and the ladies 1st XI play in the Women's England Hockey League The Women's England Hockey League is a field hockey league organised by England Hockey that features women's teams from England. From 2011-2020 it was sponsored by Investec and was referred to as the Investec Women's Hockey League. Format Regula .... Men's England Hockey League
The Men's England Hockey League is a field hockey league organized by England Hockey that features men's teams from England and Wales. Format Regular season There are 62 teams in the league, the top tier consists of a Premier Division of twelve teams. Below this is tier two, which consists of two ten-team Division One regional teams (North and South). The third tier consists of three regional conferences North, West, and East, all consisting of ten teams. The teams play each other home and away during an 18 week season from September to April. The league has a winter break between December and February. The winners of the Premier Division regular season automatically qualify to play in the Euro Hockey League. League Finals Weekend The top four Premier Division teams from the regular season qualify for the League Finals Weekend. Jennifer "Jen" Wilson (born 27 March 1979) is the head coach for Scotland. She is a former South Africa international field hockey player. She was appointed Head Coach for Scotland on a 3 year contract, starting on 1 August 2018. Playing career Wilson competed for South Africa at three Olympic Games: the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. She also competed at three Hockey World Cups and three Commonwealth Games. Susannah Townsend, (born 28 July 1989) is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for Canterbury. She was educated at Sutton Valence School, alongside Ashley Jackson, where together they each worked towards representing their country, England, in field hockey and is an Alumnus of the University of Kent.
