Canoe Slalom At The 2023 European Games
Canoe slalom events at the 2023 European Games were held at the Kraków-Kolna Canoe Slalom Course. A total of 10 medal events were contested, 5 for men and women each (C1, K1, Kayak cross, C1 team and K1 team). It was the first time that canoe slalom was in the program of European Games. The competition was also the 24th edition of the European Canoe Slalom Championships. Qualification Each NOC (National Olympic Committee) is allowed three quota spots in each individual event. Each NOC is also entitled to have one team in each team event. Schedule ''All times listed are UTC+2.'' 2022 European Canoe Slalom Championships
The 2022 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place from 26 to 29 May in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was the 23rd edition of the competition. Liptovský Mikuláš hosted the event for the third time after 2007 and 2016. A total of 10 medal events took place, 6 individual and 4 team events. The women's K1 event had two gold medalists after Eliška Mintálová and Stefanie Horn achieved the same time in the final run. This was the first time that there was a tie for any medal at the European Championships. Sideris Tasiadis (born 7 May 1990) is a German slalom canoeist of Greek descent who has competed at the international level since 2005.Son of greeks him lived in Thrace, Greece at the village Komara for 10 years during his childhood. Career In 2012, he won a silver medal in the men's C1 at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London behind Tony Estanguet (FRA) and beating two-time Olympic champion Michal Martikán (SVK). Dariusz Bogusław "Darek" Popiela (born 27 July 1985) is a Polish slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 1999. He represented Austria until 2002. Career Popiela won five medals in the K1 team event at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with two silvers (2013, 2018) and three bronzes (2006, 2019, 2023).
