Patrick Cannone (born August 9, 1986) is an American former professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Minnesota Wild. Playing career Born in Bayport, New York, Cannone played junior hockey for the New England Jr. Falcons of the Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL) from 2004 through 2006. He then joined the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League (USHL) for one season before enrolling at Miami University, where he played four seasons of college hockey. In 2011, after the end of the college hockey season, Cannone was signed as a free agent by the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League, and was assigned to their Binghamton affiliate in the AHL. Romain Cannone (born 12 April 1997) is a French right-handed épée fencer, 2022 team world champion, 2022 individual world champion, and 2021 individual Olympic champion. After winning gold in individual men's épée at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and the 2022 World Fencing Championships in Cairo, Egypt, Cannone became the first person to win back-to-back world titles in individual men's épée since Pavel Kolobkov's world titles in 1993 and 1994. He was named Sportsperson of the Year for 2020 in Colmar, France. Career Canonne was born in France, but moved to Brazil with his family while in kindergarten.
