Canigao Island
Canigao is an islet located in the Philippines, in the municipality of Matalom, Leyte. The area is known for abundant fishing grounds and scenic coral reef areas suitable for diving. Features Canigao Island is uninhabited, featuring a lighthouse as its only significant man-made structure. The beaches have white sand, with tropical sea creatures and extensive coral reef in the surrounding waters. The climate is tropical and similar to that found in other areas of the Philippines, Philippine islands. These natural features often attract tourism, tourists and Scuba Diving, scuba divers, who arrive at the island by traveling from Matalom (in the province of Leyte). The Camotes Sea is a small sea within the Philippine archipelago, situated between the Central Visayan and the Eastern Visayan regions. Tropical
The tropics are the regions of Earth surrounding the Equator. Matalom
Matalom (IPA: ɐ'talom, officially the Municipality of Matalom ( ceb, Lungsod sa Matalom; war, Bungto han Matalom; tl, Bayan ng Matalom), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 32,586 people. Scuba diving is a mode of underwater diving whereby divers use breathing equipment that is completely independent of a surface air supply. Coral Reef
A coral reef is an underwater ecosystem characterized by reef-building corals. Reefs are formed of colonies of coral polyps held together by calcium carbonate. Most coral reefs are built from stony corals, whose polyps cluster in groups. Coral belongs to the class Anthozoa in the animal phylum Cnidaria, which includes sea anemones and jellyfish. Canigao Channel
Canigao Channel is a strait in the Central Visayan and Eastern Visayan regions in the Philippines. This strait separates the islands of Bohol and Leyte, while the Cebu Strait separates Bohol and Cebu. Thus, the Camotes Sea is connected to the Bohol Sea both by the Canigao Channel (east of Bohol) and Cebu Strait (west of Bohol). The Adam Reef, the Abel Reef, the Cain Reef, and the Eve Reef are coral reefs that can be found in this channel. The Tood Islets and Canigao Island can also be found in this channel.
