Cane Pace
The Cane Pace is a harness horse race for standardbred pacers run annually since 1955. The race was first run as the William H. Cane Futurity in 1955 at Yonkers Raceway in New York. In 1956 the race joined with the Little Brown Jug and the Messenger Stakes to become the first leg in the Triple Crown of Harness Racing for Pacers. The Cane Pace of 2004 resulted in the only dead heat in the race's history and one where the two horses had the same trainer and owner. As of 2015, the Cane Pace is run at the Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey as part of the undercard for the Hambletonian Stakes, the first leg of the Triple Crown of Harness Racing for Trotters. Mohegan Pennsylvania (formerly Mohegan Sun Pocono, Pocono Downs and Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs) is a racino located in Plains Township on the outskirts of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Tim Tetrick
Timothy A. Tetrick, born November 22, 1981, in Flora, Illinois, is an American Harness Racing driver. Tim started driving Standardbreds at a very young age and on November 27, 2007, broke the record of number of wins (1,077) in a single year. Tim drove his 1,078th winner at Dover Downs in Delaware on the way to recording 1,189 wins that year. Class of the 2020 USHWA Hall of Fame! Tetrick won the 2012 Hambletonian Stakes with his horse Market Share. He won his 8,000th career race in March 2014. He was voted Harness Tracks of America Driver of the Year for 2007, 2008, 2012, and 2013 by the US Harness Writers Association. Jimmy Takter
Jimmy Takter (born September 29, 1960, in Norrköping, Sweden) is a harness racing horse trainer based in East Windsor, New Jersey, who came to the U.S. in 1982. He was inducted into the U.S. Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 2012. Background Takter is the son of Swedish trainer Bo William Takter. He was originally a driver, earning his first win at Jagersro racetrack in Malmo, Sweden at age 18. He moved to the United States in 1978 to work for Continental Farms Stable, then returned to Sweden where he married Christina, his childhood sweetheart. The two permanently moved to the United States in December 1982 and have four children, Nancy, Jenny, Tiffany and Jimmy, Jr. Takter became a U.S. citizen in 2000. Yannick Gingras
Yannick Gingras (born August 4, 1979, in Sorel, Quebec, Canada) is a Champion driver of Standardbred horses in the sport of harness racing. Career awards and records Gingras drove in his native Canada until 2001 when he moved to Yonkers Raceway in New York where he enjoyed immediate success, winning that fall's driving title. Following a 426 win year in 2003 that earned him the Dan Patch Rising Star Award, he relocated to Meadowlands Racetrack in 2004 which he continues to maintain as his home base. David Miller (born December 10, 1964) is an American harness racing driver and trainer. Miller is one of North America's most successful drivers and was elected in the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame in 2014. Stanley Franklin Dancer (July 25, 1927 – September 9, 2005) was an American harness racing driver and trainer. He was the only horseman to drive and train three Triple Crowns in horse racing. In total, he drove 23 Triple Crown winners. He was the first trainer to campaign a horse to $1 million in a career, Cardigan Bay in 1968, and drove the Harness Horse of the Year seven times. During his career, he won over $28 million and 3,781 races and was called by the United States Trotting Association "perhaps the best-known personality in the sport".
