Candyland (musician)
Candyland is an American electronic music duo consisting of Josephine "Josie" Mary Martin (born December 17, 1988) and Ethan Davis. In 2014, Ethan Davis officially left the project, therefore transforming Candyland into a solo act. However, in July 2021, Ethan and Josie announced that they had reunited as a duo, and they released their comeback single, "Nirvana" in 2022. Critical reception Matthew Meadow of ''Your EDM'' described " Speechless" as having "a fresh groove to it that definitely heats up the dancefloor" with "a strong house vibe that combines with flutes and synths from tropical house, creating a pleasant combination that works for any setting." Electro house is a genre of electronic dance music characterized by heavy bass and a tempo around 130 beats per minute. The term has been used to describe the music of many ''DJ Mag'' Top 100 DJs, including Benny Benassi, Skrillex, Steve Aoki & Deadmau5. Characteristics Simon Reynolds described electro house, as a style attributed to artists like Zedd, Erol Alkan and Bloody Beetroots. Electro-house is typified by its heavy bass. Monstercat (formerly known as Monstercat Media) is a Canadian independent electronic music record label based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Founded in 2011 by Mike Darlington and Ari Paunonen, the label released music on a tri-weekly basis until 2018, when this was changed to four releases a week. This would later be changed to six releases a week in 2021. Breathe Carolina are an American electronic music duo from Denver, Colorado, currently composed of David Schmitt and Tommy Cooperman. The band formed in 2007 and have released five albums, and nine EPs. Their latest studio album, '' Dead: The Album'', was released in November 2019. History Beginnings (2007) Kyle Even, born on September 21, 1985, and David Schmitt, born on March 26, 1988, spent their early years playing in various local Colorado musical groups. After being introduced to alternative rock by an older stepbrother, Even moved towards vocals as a teen. Before joining Breathe Carolina, Even performed in the band Rivendale. They produced an extended play called ''Portrait of Shadows''.
