Canberra Heat Volleyball Club (Men) is an Australian national league volleyball club based in Canberra, Australia. Canberra Heat Men have represented Australia at the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship. Canberra Heat Men began life as the Canberra Cobras in 1998, then renamed to Canberra Chiefs in 1999 before becoming the Canberra Heat in 2002. Les Young is the head coach and has led the team to two national championships, four silver medals and two bronze medals in his eight years coaching the club. The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) is a high performance sports training institution in Australia. The Institute's headquarters were opened in 1981 and are situated in the northern suburb of Bruce, Canberra. The AIS is a division of the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), part of the Australian Government under the Department of Health and Aged Care. Passier is a 6’10" middle blocker for the Australia men's national volleyball team. His nicknames are T-rannosaurus Pas, Trang pak, and Pasinator, and he speaks Italian and English. Nicolás Uriarte (born 21 March 1990) is an Argentine professional volleyball player. He was a member of the Argentina national team and a participant at the Olympic Games London 2012. At the professional club level, he plays for Sada Cruzeiro. Personal life Uriarte was born in Buenos Aires. His father, Jon Uriarte, is a former volleyball player, bronze medallist at the Olympic Games (Seoul 1988), and a previous head coach of the Australia men's national volleyball team. 2018 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship
The 2018 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship was the 19th edition of the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship, an annual international volleyball club tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Myanmar Volleyball Federation (MVF). The tournament was held in Naypyidaw, Myanmar from 30 July to 6 August 2018. The champions qualified for the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship instead of the 2017 champions Sarmayeh Bank Tehran, who withdrew from the 2018 Club World Championship. Qualification The 13 AVC member associations submitted their men's club to the 2018 Asian Club Championship. Volleyball ACT
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. 2017 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship
The 2017 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship was the 18th staging of the AVC Club Championships. The tournament was held in Ninh Bình and Nam Định, Vietnam from 28 June to 6 July 2017. Pools composition Teams were seeded in the first two positions of each pool following the Serpentine system according to their final standing of the 2016 edition. AVC reserved the right to seed the hosts as head of pool A regardless of the final standing of the 2016 edition. All teams not seeded were drawn in Bangkok, Thailand on 27 February 2017.
