Canal 6 (El Salvador)
Canal Seis is the flagship television channel of Telecorporacion Salvadoreña. It broadcasts from channel 6 nationwide in El Salvador. It is believed to be the country's first television station, having launched in 1956. Color broadcasts commenced in 1973. The channel has a general schedule on weekdays and is focused on movies on weekends. History Early years The first attempts to create television were made by the Mexican Inventor Rubén González on his own initiative on September 7, 1956, in black and white broadcast. In that same month Boris Eserski, Guillermo Pinto and Tono Alfaro, former owners of the radio station YSEB, collaborated in this creation. The first television channel launched was YSEB-TV. TONO is a Norwegian corporation that administers copyrights for music in Norway. It is owned and governed by its members; composers, music publishers and text-writers. Through the managing agreement the originators give TONO an exclusive right to administer the members' performing rights in Norway. By 2006 the number of members reached about 14,000, through agreements of reciprocation with about 60 other corporations, organised under the umbrella-organisation CISAC. 1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. A related display resolution is 1080p, which also has 1080 lines of resolution; the "p" refers to progressive scan, which indicates that the lines of resolution for each frame are "drawn" on the screen in sequence.
