The Canadian Screen Award for Best Pre-School Program or Series is an annual television award, presented by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television to honour the year's best television programming for preschool children produced in Canada. The award was first presented in 1998 as part of the Gemini Awards program. Prior to 1998, programming for preschool children was eligible for the Gemini Award for Best Children's or Youth Program or Series. Since 2013, the award has been presented as part of the Canadian Screen Awards. The Save-Ums!
''The Save-Ums!'' is a Canadian CGI animated children's television series produced by Decode Entertainment. The series premiered on Discovery Kids as part of the Ready Set Learn programming block on February 24, 2003, and ended on July 11, 2006 with 39 episodes being produced. Synopsis The Save-Ums, which consist of Jazzi, Noodle, Custard, Ka-Chung, Foo and B.B. Jammies, are patrol group of six aliens of various appearances, who help various critters when they run into difficulty. Each episode begins with a call on the "adventure screen" (essentially a videophone) from an inhabitant of the world in which the Save-Ums live. The caller describes the difficulty that needs to be resolved, and then select Save-Ums travel to the scene of the problem. ''The Toy Castle'' (french: Le Château magique) is a Canadian children's television show that aired on Treehouse TV, TVOntario, SCN, Access, Knowledge Network, TFO and TQS. It was aired from September 4, 2000 to December 26, 2003 and produced by Sound Venture Productions. It was inspired by Sound Venture's 1992 Christmas ballet special '' The Tin Soldier'', which starred Frank Augustyn and was based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale. ''Wumpa's World'' (french: Le monde de Wumpa; ) is a Canadian/Chinese television series for children which first aired on many networks including Treehouse TV, The Knowledge Channel, APTN, TFO, Télé-Québec, CCTV, TVB and TDM with 26 15-minute episodes from August 2001 to May 2002.
