Canadian Davis Cup Team
The Canada men's national tennis team represents Canada in Davis Cup tennis competition since 1913. They are overseen by Tennis Canada, the governing body of tennis in Canada. The team won their first Davis Cup in 2022, beating Australia 2-0 in the final. In its first appearance in 1913 it had reached the World Group final, losing to the United States 0–3. History 1913–2010: Moderate success Canada competed in its first Davis Cup in 1913. The team won its first tie, played in June at the Queen's Club, London over South Africa by a score of 4–1. Frank Dancevic
Frank Russell Dancevic ( ; sr, Френк Расел Данчевић, Frenk Rasel Dančević, ; born September 26, 1984) is a retired Canadian professional tennis player. He first became the country's top singles tennis, singles player, according to ATP rankings, on February 10, 2003, as an 18-year-old, and remained so from January 30, 2006 until June 20, 2010. Dancevic has reached two ATP singles finals (Atlanta Open (tennis), Indianapolis and Eastbourne International, Eastbourne), the quarterfinals of the 2007 Rogers Masters – Singles, 2007 Montreal Masters and achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 65 in September 2007. Grant Connell
Grant Connell (Pronounced: KAHN-nell) (born November 17, 1965) is a former professional tennis player from Canada, and has been a real estate agent for the past 14 years in Vancouver. He specializes in West Vancouver North Vancouver and Downtown properties real estate transactions. He is considered one of the world's top doubles player from the early to late -1990s, reaching the world No. 1 doubles ranking in November 1993. Connell won 22 doubles titles during his eleven seasons on the ATP Tour (1986 to 1997). He won his first four with fellow Canadian Glenn Michibata. Simon Larose
Simon Larose (born June 28, 1978) is a former professional tennis player. He was Canada's top-ranked singles player for some months during 2003 and 2004. Larose retired from the tour shortly after being banned for two years for substance abuse. Larose was born in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec, Canada. He joined the ATP professional tour at the age of 20 in 1998 having played collegiately at Mississippi State University. He was Canada's top-ranked singles player, according to the ATP rankings, in 2003 from January 6 until February 3, from May 19 until June 23, and from August 18 until October 13, and again in 2004 from July 12 until August 2. Stefan Bengt Edberg (; born 19 January 1966) is a Swedish former professional tennis player.
