Canadian Airports Council
The Canadian Airports Council (CAC) is the Canadian trade association for Canada's airports. It is a division of Airports Council International-North America. Formed in 1991, as the devolution of airports to local control was beginning under Canada's National Airports Policy, the CAC has 54 airport operator members that represent more than 100 airports across Canada. These include all of the non-governmental airports in Canada's National Airports System and other commercial airports in every province and territory. Since 2011, Daniel-Robert Gooch has been the president of CAC in an Ottawa office with six full-time staff. Canadian Aviation Regulation Advisory Council
The Canadian Aviation Regulation Advisory Council (CARAC) is the main public consultative body involved in creating and amending the Canadian Aviation Regulations and is a joint effort of Transport Canada and the Canadian aviation industry. The Council holds one plenary meeting per year. The rest of the council's business is conducted through nine Technical Committees, the meetings of which are open to the public. The procedures used by CARAC are governed by the CARAC Management Charter. Technical Committees may also form Working Groups consisting of subject matter experts, to provide reports about areas that require detailed study. Canadian Broadcast Standards Council
The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC) is an industry funded self-regulating organization created by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters to administer standards established by its own members, Canada's private broadcasters. The council's membership includes more than 760 private sector radio and television stations, specialty services and networks from across Canada, programming in English, French and third languages. As such, the council allows the private broadcasting industry to be self-regulating; it acts as an intermediary in the regulatory process, which is governed by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). Canadian Geographic Education (Can Geo Education), formerly The Canadian Council for Geographic Education, is a joint initiative of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society of Ottawa, Ontario, and the National Geographic Society of Washington, D.C.; the initiative was established in 1993. The Canadian Council for Tobacco Control (CCTC) is a registered Canadian charity. It formerly existed as the Canadian Council on Smoking and Health (CCSH). Canadian Council Of Natural Mothers
The Canadian Council of Natural Mothers (CCNM) is a Canadian lobby group for the rights of women who have placed children for adoption, founded in 1999. It is opposed to most continuing adoption practices, arguing that adoption is traumatic for mothers and frequently does not benefit their children as currently practised. To support mothers, CCNM maintains an active email group which discusses issues which pertain to those who have experienced adoption loss and those who may be in reunion with lost family members. Members of the CCNM also at attend adoption related conferences, government meetings and meetings with social services agencies to educate people about the experiences of natural mothers and argue for improved policies, practices and rights of mothers and adopted people.
