The ''Canadian Bulletin of Medical History'' is a peer-reviewed academic journal for the history of medicine, health, and related fields. The history of medicine is both a study of medicine throughout history as well as a multidisciplinary field of study that seeks to explore and understand medical practices, both past and present, throughout human societies. More than just history and medicine, this field of study incorporates learnings from across disciplines such as anthropology, economics, health sciences, sociology, and politics to better understand the institutions, practices, people, professions, and social systems that have influenced and shaped medicine throughout the ages. As a documentation of medicine over time, the history of medicine shows how societies have changed in their approach to illness and disease from ancient times to the present. Erika Dyck
Erika Ellen Dyck (born 1975) is a Canadian historian. She is a professor of history and Canada Research Chair in the History of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. In 2014, Dyck was inducted to the New College of Scholars, Artists and Scientists at the Royal Society of Canada. Born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Dyck began her undergraduate schooling at the University of Saskatchewan before transferring to Dalhousie University. She returned to her hometown for her Master's degree before enrolling at McMaster University for her PhD in History of Medicin. While earning her doctoral degree, she was convinced by Larry Stewart to research experimentation in Canada, leading her to study LSD and eugenics in Saskatchewan. The University of Toronto Press is a Canadian university press founded in 1901. Although it was founded in 1901, the press did not actually publish any books until 1911. The press originally printed only examination books and the university calendar. Its first scholarly book was a work by a classics professor at University College, Toronto.
