Canada's Worst Driver (series)
''Canada's Worst Driver'' was a Canadian television series that aired on Discovery Channel from 2005-2018, based on '' Britain's Worst Driver.'' It and sister series ''Canada's Worst Handyman'' (2006-2011) are the two highest-rated programs on Discovery Channel. The series is produced by Proper Television whose president, Guy O'Sullivan, was the director for the original ''Britain's Worst Driver'' series; as such, ''Canada's Worst Driver'' is considered to be the production company's flagship show. Unlike other ''Worst'' series around the world, the Canadian version emphasizes on the learning process of the contestants and the science of driving and, as such, is often more serious than the other ''Worst'' shows around the world, which are mainly played for laughs. It is the longest running of any ''Worst'' series to date with 14 seasons and 115 episodes (assuming specials are included). Format In each season, eight drivers and their nominators are taken to the Driver Rehabilitat ...

Canada's Worst Driver 3
''Canada's Worst Driver 3'' was the third season of the Canadian reality TV show ''Canada's Worst Driver,'' which aired on the Discovery Channel. As with previous years, eight people, nominated by their family or friends, enter the Driver Rehabilitation Centre to improve their driving skills. This year, the Driver Rehabilitation Centre is located at the Edgar Adult Occupation Centre, a radar station in Edgar, Ontario that was sold in 1964 and later used as an institution for developmentally disabled or handicapped adults until it closed down in 1999. Unlike the two previous seasons, however, when the focus was on Winter Driving and Summer Driving, respectively, the focus of this season was on Extreme Driving, in the hope that knowledge of these techniques (which is not normally taught to driving students) will help them become more confident and competent at the wheel. Also, for the second year in a row, the Driver Rehabilitation Program is one week shorter (this is due to Billie-J ...

Scandinavian Flick
The Scandinavian flick, Finnish flick, pendulum turn, or Scandi flick is a technique used predominantly in ice racing and rallying. The technique induces oversteer using weight transfer to carry a vehicle through a turn while simultaneously reducing speed. Origin of the name Beginning in the 1960s, Scandinavian rally-car drivers popularized the technique. The "flick" part comes from the technique of "flicking" the wheel in a direction opposite of the turn to build up angular momentum. Technique Approaching along the ''inside'' of an upcoming turn, the driver steers sharply towards the outside of the turn, then lifts off the throttle and lightly applies the brakes. This causes weight transfer that rotates the car toward the outside of the turn. Then, steering into the turn and releasing the brake pedal while applying full throttle will cause the car to rotate into the corner. Towards the corner exit, the driver may countersteer to control the oversteer. When properly executed t ...

Standard Transmission
A manual transmission (MT), also known as manual gearbox, standard transmission (in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States), or stick shift (in the United States), is a multi-speed motor vehicle transmission system, where gear changes require the driver to manually select the gears by operating a gear stick and clutch (which is usually a foot pedal for cars or a hand lever for motorcycles). Early automobiles used ''sliding-mesh'' manual transmissions with up to three forward gear ratios. Since the 1950s, ''constant-mesh'' manual transmissions have become increasingly commonplace and the number of forward ratios has increased to 5-speed and 6-speed manual transmissions for current vehicles. The alternative to a manual transmission is an automatic transmission; common types of automatic transmissions are the Automatic transmission#Hydraulic automatic transmissions, hydraulic automatic transmission (AT), and the continuously variable transmission (CVT), whereas the autom ...

Parallel parking usually requires initially driving slightly past the parking space, parallel to the parked vehicle in front of that space, keeping a safe distance, then followed by reversing into that space. Subsequent position adjustment may require the use of forward and reverse gears. Techniques Parallel parking is considered to be one of the most stressful and difficult skills for new drivers to learn. While parallel parking is a required part of most driving tests, several states in the US have dropped it as a requirement. Parallel parking enables the driver to park a vehicle in a smaller space than would be true of forward parking. Driving forward into a parking space on the side of a road is typically not possible unless two or mo ...
