Cameron Ezike Giles (born February 4, 1976), better known by his stage name Cam'ron, is an American rapper, record executive, and actor from Harlem, New York City. Beginning his career in the mid-1990s as Killa Cam, Giles signed to Lance "Un" Rivera's Untertainment under the aegis of Epic and released his first two studio albums ''Confessions of Fire'' and '' S.D.E. (Sports Drugs & Entertainment)'' in 1998 and 2000 respectively; the former achieved gold status by the RIAA. The Diplomats
The Diplomats (also known as Dipset) is an American hip hop collective formed in 1997 by childhood friends Cam'ron and Jim Jones in Harlem, New York. The group was originally composed of Cam'ron, Jim Jones and Freekey Zekey, all of whom grew up together in Harlem. In 1999, fellow Harlem-based rapper Juelz Santana joined the group. In 2001, following Cam'ron's signing, the group secured a recording contract with Roc-A-Fella Records. It subsequently began recording its debut album, ''Diplomatic Immunity'', and released it on the aforementioned labels in March 2003. Following tensions and controversy between Cam'ron and Jay-Z, the group subsequently severed ties with Roc-A-Fella and signed with indie record label Koch Records. ''Killa Season'' is a 2006 American crime drama film produced, written and directed by Cam’ron, who stars as a rapper whose early life as a hustler in Harlem, NY is explored. It also stars Juelz Santana, Hell Rell, and Funkmaster Flex. Overview Cam'ron's debut into the film world chronicles a loosely autobiographical plot of his own transformation from a high school basketball star to a full-time heroin dealer. This film is based on the life of High school basketball phenom Karlton Hines. Cameron's character is named "Flea." ''Killa Season'' is the fifth studio album by Harlem rapper Cam'ron. The album was released on May 16, 2006, by Diplomat Records, Asylum Records and Atlantic Records.
