Campbell Union High School District
Campbell Union High School District (abbreviated as CUHSD) is a school district based in Santa Clara County, California, serving the Silicon Valley communities of San Jose, Campbell, Saratoga, Santa Clara, Los Gatos and Monte Sereno. It operates six high school campuses, Branham, Del Mar, Leigh, Prospect, Westmont, and Boynton; as well as Campbell Adult and Community Education. It serves more than 8600 students, and employs 800 teachers and staff. Since 1986, schools in the district have been recognized as distinguished schools 7 times, the last being in 2007. As of 2022, the Superintendent is Robert Bravo. Prospect High School (PHS) is a public high school in Saratoga, California, United States. It is part of the Campbell Union High School District. Academics Prospect offers a mix of advanced and on-level classes. Its curricula are continually evaluated and modified to reflect the needs of students and to assure that all students are challenged and supported in their academic growth. Campbell High School (California)
Campbell High School was the first high school to open in the Campbell Union High School District. The school was established on September 14, 1900, in Campbell, California. It is also sometimes called Campbell Union High School, and the abbreviation can be found both as CHS or CUHS. After 80 years, the school was closed in June 1980 due to declining enrollment at the school and within the district. The campus was purchased by the city of Campbell on August 1, 1985, and is now used as a community center. History Campbell Union High School opened its doors as part of the district in 1900, with a registration of 35 students, consisting of 23 girls and 12 boys. Two teachers were hired to educate the students: Professor E. A. Powers and Miss J. M. Newton. It was on the second floor of Campbell's Grammar School. Camden High School (San Jose, California)
Camden High School was an American high school located in the U.S. state of California. It was the second school built in 1955, in the Campbell Union High School District and the first of several to close in 1980. Originally located at the corner of Camden Avenue and Union Avenue in the Cambrian Park neighborhood of San Jose, much of its campus has now been sold and converted into a shopping center. Behind the center, some of the original buildings and the swimming pool remain as the Camden Community Center. Westmont High School is located in Campbell, California, United States and is part of the Campbell Union High School District. First opened in the fall of 1964, Westmont drew students initially from both Blackford and Campbell High Schools. Boynton High School is a secondary school located in San Jose, California and is a continuation school for the Campbell Union High School District. Between 1990 and 2002 when Boynton High School continuation students attended what was then Blackford High School. Blackford had been a traditional high school before 1991 when it was closed. After a minor disagreement amongst board members of the Campbell Union High School District, they agreed to rename the continuation high school to Boynton High School, and established a new building on the same lot as Blackford.
